7-8.5 is my go to range, especially for IPAs/DIPAs.

6% , I would bet that 80% of the beer I drink is between 5% and 7% abv.

It really depends on the style but I really want all of my stouts, barleywines and old ales to be >10%. Most of the time I will want DIPAs at or near 10% also, but for me personally in this style anything under 9% I tend to classify as IPA versus DIPA. That's just me and how my palate tends to roll :sunglasses:

Right now, my two favorite beers are the complete opposites of the spectrum. There's a Berliner that's only 2.3% and there's a barrel aged old ale that clocks in at 14%...

My favorite styles all hover around 7% ABV. But my ideal would be for beers with 4-5% alcohol to taste like beers in the 7-8% range.

Ideal ABV is 10.0%-10.5%.....i generally get something full bodied and flavorful....and perfectly fine to just have 1-2 at a time.

I also picked 5% for "ideal" when I'm enjoying brews. If I'm out with a lady though, 10%+

Tough call, but I went with 5. I love trying beers in the 2 - 4.9 range. 0 is an interesting fantasy-land choice. Double digit beers can be very nice even if I prefer a 4.0. Ultimately, if I had to limit my buying habits to what's out there at 5.0 - 5.9, I'd still be very content.

I think 8% is the perfect ABV for a balanced DIPA.

Hmmmm 6% because I think it is the perfect middle ground. Sessionable with a bit of punch. 8% and above is a bit of dangerous territory. Those are beers I can have 4 or 5 of but one too many too late in the night makes sleeping a tough task with all those spins

It's interesting how no one has said 0% yet, being that so many are concerned about beer obsession and alcoholism. Regardless, for taste, I love 8%. Anything above generally gets a bit too boozy & anything below doesn't have the full malty taste I love. Also, Pliny is 8%.

4% ABV. I want to drink, not get drunk. I want to enjoy the flavors and experiences without getting hammered. I want to have several beers too. So 4% would be ideal. I wouldn't mind having to work a little harder to get drunk!
