I have a one gallon home brew I made by throwing together some pilsen malt and cascade hops. It turned out a little too bitter for me, but some hop head friends of mine loved it and even compared it to Great Lakes Burning River IPA, however mine is only about 5.5% abv.

1 lb pilsen malt, .8 oz cascade hops, a dash of safeale us-05
    boiled 30 mins.

Style wise? Sounds like a session IPA, short of you using lager yeast.

I assume you're asking about the BJCP style? Well, if it tastes like an American IPA and is 5.5% ABV, I'd say it's an American IPA. Though the color will probably be a bit light.

Anchor Liberty is all Cascade, 5.9 %ABV, but 2 row.

I don't think Liberty ale fits any bjcp style guideline.

You didn't even look at the 2008 guidelines, it is listed as a commercial example in AIPA. The ABV fits, IBU of 45-47 fits.

Edit 2015 says more of an APA today.
