Interesting technique, though. Only doing 15 minute boils, then? Simcoe and Galaxy at FO or during cooling and as a dry hop, I assume?

I do 60 min boils...but the hop are bagged, added during lauter and pulled when the wort comes to a boil +15 min. On second thought, maybe I'll pull them when it comes to a boil. ...Better get back to the garage.

Going 3:2 Simcoe:Galaxy 5oz total late + 5 oz single keg dryhop...but that could change if I feel ostentatious

You'd have to try hard for that combo not to work.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter brew day, going to try adding some pb2 in secondary. Never used this stuff before but from what I've read need to make a slurry of it then rack onto it. Bottled mosaic/hull melon IPA last night, smelled great but didn't sample any, hope tastes as good as nose was.

Brewed up my annual Mad Dog backing trip beer today. Needs to be ready for late October and possible submission in the NE Homebrew Comp.

Not a smooth one for me. I think I had a bad crush b/c only got around 50% mash efficiency. Lowest ever. So I boiled longer to get my OG to 1.062 and settled for 1 gal less in the fermentor. Wanted 1.069. That will work still.

First time using Vic Secret and BRU-1 hops. Hoping for a little drier IPA with a firmer bitterness.

Boiling away on my first imperial stout. Planned for 65% efficiency, but looks like I'm going to be around my usual 74-75%: pre-boil gravity was a full 10 points higher (1.084 vs. 1.074) than Beersmith predicted. Wasn't prepared for the amount of water the grain would absorb, so got my weekend workout in squeezing the hell out of my (brew-in-a-)bag.

Bottled an Edmund Fitzgerald semi-clone during the mash as well. Missed OG and FG slightly, which was a good learning experience and has helped today. Pitching the stout straight onto that yeast cake, after using my treat-yo'self birthday gift of an immersion chiller when the boil is done. Today is a good day!

Bottled my "Oatoberfest" today. Once again 1728 showed that it is a trooper hitting 75% vs the 69-73% published. And thats fermenting it at 59-60. Dropped nice and clear too.
