Well got to do a brew day for the first time in over a month... Brew a Wee Heavy. Things turned out great, And even discovered my final volume issue (math is hard....). So in a few weeks will be sending two off to Vikeman. Also placed an order for some grain and yeast to do a NEIPA (wrote it up and thought to see other examples, mine is similar to the APNEIPA just I am using Zeus and Cascade only).

Need to bottle another go of my Mocktoberfest that turned out well. Even though it was all foam at the home brewfest, people liked it, so win for me on that beer.

Brewed my DIPA today... Overall, hectic brewday. All went fine in the end, but ended up dropping a pot lid on my small toe (fell right on the edge, how it didn't break is beyond me! Haha)... Nasty cut and bruising going on though. But aside from that incident, just a lot of little things. Thankfully not really affecting with the beer at all. Just everything else lol

But I have high hopes for this one! Will be hitting with the fermentation dry hop as early as tomorrow night. OG came in at 1.072, FG expected around 1.012.

Brewed up a RIS yesterday and bottled PB Porter today. Brew day went smoothly, hit my OG 1.117, will give this the cocoa nibs, chile pepper, and coffee bean treatment down the road. PB porter smelled of peanut butter but the sample taste was lacking the peanut butter taste was hoping for. Tried racking porter onto a PB2 powder slurry (boiled and cooled water first). First time trying PB2, left it in secondary for 5 days, maybe should've waited longer.

Well, I thought I would be installing it. I just could not drill though that stainless steel. I tried a brand new carbide bit, going slow, using lube, pushing hard on the drill... I couldn't even get a small pilot hole - nothing but a small indentation. Everyone online makes it looks trivial. I can't imagine what I'm doing wrong. Any tips?

I'm considering just calling around to machine shops in the area to see if they'll do it for cheap.

I bough a step drill and it went right through. Perhaps the bit was bad.

My titanium step bit and cobalt 1/8" bit are both giving me trouble. Seriously like I'm trying to dig through with a spoon. I tried for hours. Not sure.

I bought my drill at a electrical supply store and threw out the box. Perhaps the machine shop choice may be a good one to get you brewin.

Just got a new brew stand last weekend and used it for the first time on my double brewday. Other than my kettle barely fitting on the edges of the raised frame on the bottom tier (actually a plus as it tips forward easily for the last gallon bringing it to the pickup), and having to climb up and down for the mash, I really like it. I have a new keggle with false bottom for a mash tun. Gonna put a burner on the top tier, move the HLT up there, mash on the middle tier, and kettle on the bottom tier. Chiller works fairly well too.

Bottling my Imperial PB Porter today. Did you put any PB2 in the boil? I put 2 pounds at the end of my boil and get a ton of Peanut Butter flavor. I may add some PB2 in the secondary if I feel its not there but in my experience it seems to add little at that stage.
