The last few times I've been to Cycle and gotten Crank is seems like a completely different beer than 6 months ago, same with Rickshaw. They used to be super hazy and have that Treehouse like mouthfeel, now they do not. I know they have increased capacity some so that might have something to do with it. Just wondering if I'm alone in this and if anyone knows whats up.

I do feel that the latest batch of Rickshaw is not up to par. Crank is still delicious to me.

It has changed a bit. I'm confident Doug and he crew will work it out. I still think its great, maybe just not as great.

Last draft of Rickshaw that I had was a huge disappointment compared to the previous draft I had from the last run. I've had Crank with floaties and then none. There is a difference in the taste but I'll dome it anyway because.....it's freaking gooooood

I do think even elite breweries can have some growing pains when moving to larger bbl systems. COAST is my favorite brewery and after trying essentially everything they made over an approximate 2 year period, I had never had a single beer that I considered to be "off". However, they expanded their capacity sizably and got much larger equipment. Immediately following this upgrade, the first couple of batches of their flagship IPA were very hit or miss. This issue has since resolved and they are back to producing exceptional beers on an impressively consistent basis.

Likewise, I know how top notch Cycle is and suspect they will also work out the kinks.

Agree that crank has lost some of its haziness. Still smells great and drinks well, but definitely a drop in mouthfeel. I know that trillium had issues a few months back due to the hops they were getting and their beers standout because of how cloudy they are. It only lasted a few weeks and back to normal. Not sure what the deal is with crank, but I feel the same way, maybe it's the larger production to meet the kegs that are being distributed.

Rickshaw is different this time around but I'm more worried about crank, because it's a staple. Still very good but not the beer it was about 6 months ago

I'm pretty sure I heard that this batch of Rickshaw was a different recipe than the original. I believe the ABV is also different too

This is correct. It is a different batch and not the same as the one last year. I believe the first one was Citra hops, this one is Nelson hops.

In fact, all three iterations of Rickshaw have been different. I think we all loved the OG so much that these last two have been enough of a switch up to throw us off.
