Unfortunately central CA here, so not necessarily getting anything here that you all cannot, but what can snag a couple bottles of their ipas?
I'll second what stupac said....unless you have stuff not from Ca. Unless you want to pay an arm and a leg at the few Bay Area spots, and the spot in Sacramento....it's worth it to just take a little trip down south to the source.
Once Beat is sold out it isn't. Not for the last month though. Alpine IPAs are 4 bottle limits and basically brewery only at this point. 1-2 bottle limit if you happen to find them at retail. If someone lived close to Santa Rosa (or in Santa Rosa) it seems like a pretty even deal.
A lot. I traded a 2010 Abyss for some Nelson and Duet if that gives you an idea. Maybe if you had Racer X or something along those lines but that one is pretty old now.
But its not sold out and I agree though if you're trading with someone that lives in or very close to Santa Rosa then its an even deal. For the majority of people though, that's not the case.
Thinking of stuff in CA... The right partner and the right RS beer could also get it done. Not talking anything super exclusive, just something you may not want the full allotment of. Maybe a Drakes grower of stuff they don't bottle?
I've been lucky enough to get some drakes sours and barrel aged stuff in growlers, but I'm sort of family. They do a few beers by the growler that aren't bottled...Hop Salad...but that's probably your best bet to land some Alpine.
I brought a Racer X with me to Alpine a few months back. I shared it with a couple of the brewers, and they gave me an Expo Hoppiness...nice guys.
Curious to try racer x , I go to alpine pretty often, I traded some alpine for some kern 5th a couple I releases ago wE were both happy
From the responses in thread, my "strategy" would be a 3 way trade in which you send someone RR, they send a SoCal guy their good locals and the SoCal guy sends you Alpine. Convoluted :-/
