i slowly started getting into this world starting last summer. it was sparked by a trip to europe that started in belgium. went to see pearl jam at the rock werchter festival just outside brussels with a friend who is a beer geek.

never really was much of a beer drinker, i'd enjoy a molson or a heineken once in a while but usually stuck to spirits. sat at a bar and let the bartender choose my beer and was served a st bernardus abt 12. had no idea beer could taste like that.
that's the one that did it.

60min got me started. Was sick of drinking bud and needed something different. Saw some 60min on tap and decided to give it a shot. WOW, all the new flavors I have never experienced before. Now I'm always wanting to try something new. Now it makes me sick when people ask "what is your favorite beer? Bud, miller, or coors?". I just look at them in disappointment

I never really got in to BMC. Back in high school, all my friends drank Bud, but I preferred Killians. Then in college, I started drinking Dead Guy Ale and Sierra Nevada. That's when I completely stopped ordering BMC at the bars.

I thought these were just fuller flavor beers. Then, the first time I had Chimay Blue, I understood how much potential there really was for beer.
