Based off my current trade USPS is taking a while and their tracking seems to be slow, vs Fed Ex seemed to be much faster. Is this common? Who’s the best shipping provider for future trade ideas?

    Thanks and Cheers!

In my personal experience usps is faster ~75% of the time.

It all depends on region /area you live. Many people will say they prefer one over the other

He's correct. There can also be a fabulous price difference - $150 via FedEx vs $50 on UPS to the same destination for the same package. And would you feel more comfortable lying about the package contents to a computer in a kiosk or a human at a counter.

Man, I know several folks who work for usps and they say it's a mess at the moment. I wouldn't use them, even though it's cheaper.

Can confirm. I ship boxes regularly to Montana from Chicago and 4 days seems to be the fastest, with up to 2 weeks to be the longest. Weirdly enough, boxes I send via usps can/regularly do make it to Cali/NYC in 2 days

I can concur with that one. I’ve seen stuff get from Cali to Florida or Maine in 48 hrs, but occasionally (usually shipping to Chicago or Midwest) it will fall off the radar randomly. They’ve always turned up so far though eventually.

Had some annoying experiences with FedEx recently. Their site will say my card can't be used but I see a charge show up anyway, so it was just bullshit. I'd avoid FedEx if at all possible, their prices are pretty inflated as well. Haven't used ups but considering switching.

a couple years ago FedEx was fine and their prices were more reasonable from what I remember. It could just be my imagination though

These threads are always a good reminder that there is not a right or wrong answer to this question. I've used FedEx pretty excursively for a handful of years now and outside of one over zealous shop worker asking to open my box to make sure I'm not shipping alcohol, it's all been positive for me. I changed to scheduling pickups at my house after that incident which is a hundred times better than dropping off at a shop anyway. The guy did me a favor

Thanks, I agree. I sent a box USPS on the 20th and it’s now supposed to get there today, the 26th... I’m glad I gave him ample amounts of extras. His box FEDEX got here within 2 days... crazy!

Honestly like some have said before it depends where it’s going. I personally always use usps and yeah sometimes there’s a hiccup but it usually gets there within 2-3 days. If it’s going cross country ups and FedEx ground take forever and I’m seriously thinking of only trading w east coast traders who use usps.

He is in Tennessee and used FEDEX it was super quick. I'm in Chicagoland and used USPS and it took like 6 days. Everything worked out fine, I guess I was just hoping the shipping provider would be on similar shipping schedules.

I guess it's different for everyone, idk. Just glad he got it and everything was safe.

    Cheers!

Well I once sent a box from France to the US using regular French post service, hence the USPS fellas picked up the slack and it ended up being a mess. One broken bottle and two were flat.

It’s definitely cheaper than FedEx or UPS, especially international trades but be cautious they don’t mistake your box for a soccer ball.

Best option is to work for a large company that gives you access to their negotiated UPS rates. Cheap and they always deliver on time.

I kept my FedEx ID for like 5 years after I quit. We got 75% off overnight shipping. It made overnight cheaper than regular and suddenly overnighting something wasn't weird at all and the fact that I was "one of them" felt like it erased any suspicion of anything. I finally just got too old to work that ID but the best option is definitely to get a shipper's employee ID and use that
