Dat pampermousse (those of you in the know will know what I'm talking about)

Hoppy as fuck. Dat grapefruit. Do you even hop the ^@%@ out of your beers and pretend they're saisons to appeal to your consumer base?

6/6 ba reviews mention grapefruit so i guess I'm in the majority here... (unlike Golden Road drinkers, amIrite?) I'll be signing autographs after the thread...

It was good but inauthentic..I'm sure that's worthy of at least a 4.5 these days...

    • Just to clarify, that was referring to the Pamplemousse, which is a good IPA but a terrible Saison. Merchant Sniffer is a terrible beer and should generally feel ashamed of its existence.

cant see the point in a photo of the beer,
    had another one last night,
    ,
    (founders backwoods)
    really nice,
also went to Albany/ Denmark WA on the weekend,
    had Boston Brewery beers: ,
ok only good one is the Rye pale ale
best thing was Going back to "true South" , and pint of 8Wired Sour poppy and SN hop hunter,
    both $11 a pint!
Albany had the "taste of the great southern " on which was a ticketed event where you could go in a taste booze etc, unfortuanly not really a place for small children,

Saw some new (to me at least) local Canberra beers for sale at Jim Murphy's, grabbed a mixed six from "Tortured Gum Brewery". Anyone seen them interstate? Will report back tonight after I've had some.

A few still floating around Perth. Let me know if you are unsuccessful. Happy to send one or two your way if need be.

    Tortured Gum initial thoughts.

Duntroon Pilsener: Crushable, bland, essentially zero hop presence, very light grassy sweetness, a bit grainy too.
Average initial soapy off-white head, messy lacing, clear light gold colour, a little undercarbed.

Capital Pale Ale: Again - crushable, the nose is actually pretty nicely hopped and floral, taste is almost note-for-note their Pils, a bit more carbonation, light bitterness right at the end, still no real hop flavour, and again fairly sweet.
Looks the same in every aspect, maybe a shade darker.

Stinger: This is an "American Pale Wheat Ale" according to the website, no previous experience with the style. Nose is very mild but what I can pick out is pretty decent. Bit of grain, some lemon tartness, honey, there's some very soft spice in here too - if I had to name it I'd say clove but it's very generic. The nose got my hopes up but the taste didn't deliver, I'm not kidding when I say this tastes like water, lemon, and honey (the kind I'd get from my grandma when I had a sore throat) - horrendous and bland. A bit more lively on the tongue, the best mouthfeel of the three. Also looks the bloody same as the other two!

    Well...that was dissapointing!

Yesterday - Almanac Farmer's Reserve Blueberry. Enjoyed more than Peach de Brett, I feel the Blueberry actually shined through nicely, juicy and not as harshly acidic. Looked pretty great too.

It has been about a year since I first tried it and I'm still purchasing Golden Road 'Wolf Among Weeds' almost every session.
    Amazingly refreshing for 8%.
    Big grapefruit/citrus/pine hop hit.
Nice and dry but still retains a satisfying biscuity malt character.
    Destroys all Aus IPAs.
Plus it's only $8.50 for a 473ml can from my local!!

To Øl Fuck Art - The Heathens Are Coming. Found this to be a bit too sweet and overpowered by overly ripe fruit flavours - almost compost like. Although reading reviews I seem to be alone on this one.

Went to the South West again this weekend

Pourhouse Dunsborough, best was Artisan belg apa, pretty nice, got a growler,

    Dunsborough cellars,
a damn good beer selection at pretty good prices

Blacks Brewing ( was Duckstein I think) had 3 of their own pretty dull beers on tap,
best was probably a rice lager..

The Grove " experience" pretty Odd "experience" lots of tacky liqueurs n shit, found the whole vibe really creepy, bought a tasting pack will report, not expecting much

Eagle Bay, reasonable beers, just no kick arse stuff,

    Mash bunbury,
Copycat tasting pretty good only a hint of diacetyl
