I went to Blind Tiger last night. Although failing in my endeavour to drink all 32 of the beers they had on tap I had not had before, I did put a fair dent into it. Judging by the email I sent to Mistress Mordecia and one to my boss, beer may have won that battle. It turns out that when drunk, not only am I not funny, I lose the ability to use English. My Spanish is spectacular however.

Some stout called 'Black Hole' out of a cask was the winner, well it's the only beer I can re-call properly, so it must have made an impression. Something Something (can't remember real name) 'Gnarleywine' was v. interesting.

Thanks for all the tips gang. 'Tobelerone' has been great with tips as well, but he is sadly stuck planning his wedding, so I can't drag him out for a 9hr pub crawl like I did for Thoreaulikeagirl.

Anyhoo, off to Rattle and Hum today and then to a batting cage. Much like my days at university and 'beer then study' I have the order of things the wrong way around, but damn the torpedos.

It will also lessen the impact as I have to 'escort' some ladies to a male strip joint. Not only will I be bored, I will probably develop crippling penis envy. F__k my life.

P.S Andrew, Tilquin may be the one. I woke up today with a craving for it. I used to think that stouts and fruity IPAs were the breakfast beers for me, I see the light now. Where do I go to swear my allegiance to Lukie's cult?

No one can join my cult because it means less Tilquin for me.

    Oh.

Anyway, back to topic, a bottle of Victory Hop Devil while I sit on a fire escape, smoking cigarettes and listening to the Osker album 'Treatment 5' and doing some online banking. It really is a nice easy hop delivery system to drink.

After that will be some Meantime Speedway for lunch and then off to do some exploring.

Seems like a reasonable way to go about it. The times I've been to the US I always figured I'd eventually drive by some batting cages and stop off for some wholesome fun but it never worked out. Hope you're having a nice time.

Currently drinking some Mac's Hop Rocker. I used to buy this fairly often because it was cheap and tasty but I probably haven't had it in 3 years or so. Still cheap and tasty. Good to know. Murray's Seasons In The Abyss is up next. I anticipate it being the best beer named after a Slayer album I have ever had.

Drinking some Wig & Pen Sour Blonde. Just had confirmation that there will soon be a genuine Oude Gueuze with 1, 2 and 3 year old lambic.

Big fan of that beer. Ridiculously affordable (last time I bought it anyway) and such a good beer.

It's not that cheap if you buy it in Australia

Had work drinks last night, think I downed about eight pints of LCPA.

among other things i finally got to sample La Sirene Saison today and Wow!!!! what a top class beer, it's a shame that although the beers itself competes with Dupont the price doesn't otherwise i would be making this my regular saison

Valid, yet a bit of a disappointing point. It is indeed up there with Dupont in terms of quality, but that four buck price difference can kind of cause a problem!

I will still drink it regularly, because it is a world class Saison.

I'll forgive La Sirène being a bit pricey and just continue to think of Saison Dupont as a bit of a bargain. I mean Orval is around 6 bucks and if you want variety you've got not think too much about price sometimes.

Drinking: Budvar cans. Better than the best bottle of it I've tried.
De Molen Vuur and Vlaam - not a gusher, normal head, no chunks. Reminds me of how I get sucked back in to buying De Molen after swearing off them.
Hix Pale Ale - must be a new batch. About as a good an APA as I've had.
Little Creatures Long Shadow - didn't quite dislike it.
3 Ravens Prussian Porter - they like their smoke, don't they. Pretty good.
Prickly Moses Vintage Ale - Heaps of Pinot Noir barrel malarkey in this one. Stylish drop. Almost as good as their BdG.
Hitachino Nest Red Rice Ale - bizarre but quite good.

Yesterday was a bottle of Hoppin' Frog B.O.R.I.S the Crusher RIS. I would kill everyone in this forum for some more. Luckily I have one left, so I can forgo the pleasure of murder to keep the general good humour, after that though.... I cannot recommend this beer highly enough.

I have been drinking a blend of Lindemans Gueuze (from growler/squealer), Oud Beersel Oude Lambik and Girardin Oude Lambik from cask. The Beersel straight lambic is amazing.
