Yeah, the Fullers shop - where the back catalogue of vintage ales are - only send within the UK...otherwise there's a fair whack of the Gale's & Fullers range that goes through the importer in Perth.

    AROMA
BIG juicy fruit hop aroma, guava, lemon, touch of pepper. Malt sweetness
    FLAVOUR
Mild bitterness, very well balanced with fruit cake malt sweetness. Surprisingly dry finish

These are the tasting notes I've put up for my pub. I think the pepper comes through more then a touch, but I'm not the red rye expert here.

On the whole, reviews have been good. A couple of people have said it wasnt that good, but they had the stench of Carlton Draught and TEDs about them. I think they imagined the 'Peoples Pint' was going to be more along the lines of that winery with their iphone app.

What was your idea Mr ADZA?
and after reading ur notes maybe my idea did have a lil impact lol

We're actually kind of lucky here. The Fremantle Doctor (quite possibly one of the best b/shops in Perth) still had some 09 sitting on there shelves a couple of weeks ago. I get most of mine through them.

Oh wow. ADZA. I voted for your one. It was that one and the stout that really made me think. I think the rest were just relying on silly names etc.

Yeah, certain vintages are up at the moment, ilast i heard the physical shop has all vintages back to 1997, though that could've changed.

You just need to have it sent to the UK and then get it out here.

This article covers it comprehensively: http://desdemoor.co.uk/fullers-vintage-ale/

I'll try and find something (i think) John Keeling wrote for the Fullers Newsletter a little while ago with his notes on the vertical as well.

And yeah cool cheers for that and i think ur right i gave my idea with not much space too move and like u said i think the names were pretty open to what they could be but glad they used a little of my idea as the winner didnt give them much to go on lol

    Really enjoyed the Palate Wrecker.
on the brown and blacks tonight - feral / 2 bro's collab, temptress, rasputin, left hand imperial stout

Had the Temple Midnight IPA last night, would of liked more roasty flavours but loved the hops. Worth the wait.

I found it interesting they used Black wheat malt in that. It was so smooth. Such a well made beer.

The shop is a 20 minute detour on my way home from work

I get down every 2 to 3 months and have a look

Been twice this year and the '99 is the oldest available now (unless they have a secret stash of '97 / '98)

    I have '99 / '00 / '04 and '10 in my outhouse at present

I believe all are available in the shop except '97 / '98 and '02

The reason '02 has gone is because it was the Queen's Golden Jubillee year and was snaffled up quickly because of that apparently!

I've had 2 of the '99 this year, one back in early March toasting England in the six nations. It was exceptional

I had another (purchased at a later point) in April and it was decent, but a let down compared to the former

    Interesting to note such variation!

Stop it, your sounding like me.... no use expecting some here to have manners or morals ... its the internet and you have free reign to say what you like, when you like ...

Well I got some Ballast Point Big Eye. Woot woot, should be back that way round the change of the year. Burp!

I know he has a right to express himself, Lukie baits me about Perth bars and I bait him about setting his bottleshop on fire, turning all my taps to Kolsch and putting a hole in any sour keg I see. It's all fun.

We all have our roles to play. I picture Mr K as a sort of beer wizard, spreading joy where ever his wand alights. Lukie as a grumpy gueze goblin gobbling gueze all the time. Mr Hopswiller as our elder statesman, Mr Spicelab and Mr Heygeebee as our voices of reason, Mr Mulder and Mr Danielol as Sattler and Waldorf from the muppets, Mr Hawthorne00 as our mistress (he's married to ratebeer but he thinks we're more fun) and myself, Mr ADZA, Mr Perthbelgianbeers and Mr Parrotshake as playful drunks:slight_smile: All of these pictures are, of course, with the utmost affection.

    On topic, tonight water. Boo!

Tomorrow, Weinhenstephan Pils. If I can drink my way through that, then I will have space to put Temple's Midnight Black IPA or Murray's Icon. Not Boo!

Speaking of, Lukie, if you're free tomorrow and you're not making chilli sauce, I have a wee bit of Warhead left. After that, it's Lindemanns Gueuze if you wish to partake.

I'm almost glad I don't feature in your interpretation of the BA Australia forum. Love it.

To keep it on topic, it's been some Viven IIPA and Renaissance/8wired/Nogne O for Awesome tonight. That stuff if phenomenal.
