I'm going to be flying in to Raleigh from the west coast in a couple of weeks time, and will have a couple of free evenings to explore. Are there any good breweries/brewpubs/bars in the RTP area that anyone can recommend? Any NC beers that I should not miss?

There are some threads in this forum with super thorough answers, and I suspect a few people will chime in directly nonetheless. Sam's Quik Shop in Durham has a fantastic selection. Bring Washington beers for trade!

Yeah, use the forum search. This comes up once or twice a week on this forum at the absolute least.

Because it's new and might not be listed on the previous answers, Trophy Brewing is getting a lot of buzz in Raleigh. It's related to one of the better beer bars in the area, Busy Bee Cafe, also in Raleigh.

It'll really depend on if you have a rental car or not. If so, check out Beerfly for Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary and Apex. If not, it'll depend on exactly where you are staying. The hotels actually in RTP aren't really near anything except high-tech/pharma businesses ... and other hotels.
