In all seriousness, I find light lagers and AAL's to be a cure to this problem. Hit these beers hard for a couple weeks then go back to the heavier, bigger craft brews. I find that it works for me, and gives you a greater appreciation for better crafted beer.

You like what you like. Honestly, I like a good Barleywine, but only on rare occasions. I got a bunch of BCBW's and traded all but 2 away (1 I drank, 1 I'm aging). Some of the beer styles are too heavy and too sweet. There are a few strong ale styles that I just can't do, or if I do have one, I need to split it with someone. Samichlaus kicks my ass every time. The sweetness gives me the worst stomach and head ache.

As far as stouts go, I actually prefer regular stouts over BA stouts. And I further think that most BA stouts need at least a year or two to settle the booze in them to really be worth drinking. IMO, drinking a beer like The Abyss with anything less than 2 years on it is a crime.

Stick your BC beers on a shelf and forget about them for a year. They'll be a lot better with some age on them.
