What's your Average Beer Rating?

3.32 here. Pretty much what I thought it would be, but very surprised it is so low compared to almost all others. Amazingly, I have just 17 beers (of 120) with an rDev plus 10.0% or more and 50 with a minus 10.0% or more...I never really paid attention to that until this post.

A couple of thoughts... I collect beer cans and I do "brewery crawling", so in order to get a healthy collection, I tend to try a lot of beers out of my comfort zone (I also like to ask for the best selling and a low-selling beer in the flight). And, I see a rating of 3.0 as "average". Some very drinkable beers fall in the "average" range and a 3.5 is still a pretty good beer, one I'd drink again. If I rated a bunch at 5.0, then how would I rate a beer that comes along as better than one I rated a 5?

 

Mine’s only 3.58. Guess I’m not fond of beer.

 

Just went up a hundredth to 3.98!

 

Drinking those big, high-scoring BBA stouts can do that to you.

 

3.77. Not bad. I thought I'd be closer to 4 for some reason.

4.09 for me. Not surprised.

Mine is 4.01 higher than I would have thought, though there are some beers I did not care for and as a result did not rate. I probably should change that philosophy.
