Going out of town and asking friends who travel to bring me back beer has raised my bottle count exponentially. I'm at around 100, but hoping to drink more and buy less. The key word there is hoping.

About 20-25 bottles that I keep in my "cellar" (cabinet in the basement) for special occasions and I never have more than a case in the fridge.

I tend to have between 160 and 200 bottles on hand. I want to be able to offer a guest any style they like so I have most styles on hand. Also, the last thing I want to do when I'm in the mood to drink is drive to the local beer store.

I have 120 different beers. Not many duplicates. Perhaps 140 total. I try to finish the IPA's and wheat beers fairly quickly. I have like 25 stashed away for when my brother-in-law visits once or twice a year. Some whales, mostly spirit barrel aged beers and hard to find wild ales. I tend to stash away all barleywines and some imperial stouts for at least a year. Everything else is just whenever I get to it.

I have 28 bottles; 20 bottles in my beer cabinet and 8 in the fridge ready to go. I live in an apartment with my girlfriend so I need to limit my beer storage to the cabinet, it can hold approximately 40 bottles, and the primary refrigerator in the kitchen. I've tried to stay under 40 bottles as I realized that is the sweet spot for how much I drink and the size of the living space at the moment. I probably don't fall below 20 bottles on hand at any given time.

In the coming years we will probably buy a house and when I have more of a true "beer cellar" and extra space (i.e. for a beer-centric fridge) it's safe to say I will be comfortably in the 50-100 zone

@ 150. Whenever I go out of state I always buy a lot of beer to try that I can't get home. I don't drink a lot so it sits in the frig downstairs until I get to it or have friends over.

I thought I might be on the low end at between 0-12 but am actually quite surprised to see that over 100 is the leading response.

I don't know the exact number (guessed 100-250 since at one point I was keeping one of each beer I tried and I'm approaching 200 beers tried so I figure the number of bottles is at least in that range), but I can say that the amount of bottles I have is too many! They're taking up half of my bookshelf already (plus some 12-pack boxes on the floor next to said bookshelf...)

I'll probably trim my collection down a bit -- planning on keeping rare, unusual, retired, and bigger (16/22 ounce) bottles along with some of my overall favorites (either the beer itself or just the bottle/label... maybe I'll try to take the labels off and just keep those, if possible) and probably all of the Devil's Backbone ones since it'd be kinda neat to have a bottle of every beer made by one of my local breweries, but most of them are probably going to make a trip to the recycling bin sometime in the near future.

EDIT: ...oh wait, was this for full bottles? Must not have read very closely before replying... whoops. If so, only eight left in the fridge currently.

Maybe 20. I have a small house. No cellar, no garage. Granted, I live by the beach, but I get screwed by storage

Just counted :81 . That's maybe 2x normal. Only 5 are IPAs, & 4 APAs, & they should be gone soon. Been seeing so many good ones lately*. Then my brother brought me some, & in a rush, didn't get around to taking ones I had for him. Did better in June than May(slightly). Trying to get it down, but lately have had more time for beer buying than beer drinking.

*Here in the outer outskirts of Bingladesh..er...Binghmaton, we're late to the party on some of the stuff most of y'all take for granted. I've been buying more singles, to try for the first time, than I usually do. Plus the beer store near work has been having too many can't-resist s for their Friday growler special. ($12/64oz - from Singlecut ,Clown Shoes,Boulevard,Good Nature, etc.) Makes it harder to reduce bottle count when that big bottle of fresh Larrrrrrge! is sitting in the fridge. ; )

Since I am a homebrewer, my count of commercial beer is less than 25.

I'm not sure what my count is exactly, but it's somewhere around 60 bottles. The reasons for my cellar are various, but most of the bottles either fall into the categories of aging experiment or known aging success. A few bottles I am keeping because I am moving across country and want to share new beers with new coworkers.

I wish my count was lower, because packing these bottles to move sucks.

There have been a bunch over time. Just from memory, Founders Imperial stout does - fresh, every time I've had it is really hot and boozy, a year or a couple years mellows things way out.
A lot of Bourbon Barrel beers are the same way. I know they say that the beer is ready to drink immediately, but I usually find additional time can help things mellow out nicely.
Many big quads and barleywines are the same way.
Victory's Helios is one of the more surprising ones. It's a decent Saison when fresh, but it is conditioned with Brett in the bottle, so a year or 2 on it helps a bit of sour character come out.

My guess was close to 50 but when I went down to the cellar to count, I had 73.

I generally don't like to keep much beer around, especially in the summer when my tastes trend toward hoppier offerings.

A decent chunk of my fresh stuff in the fridge should go today at the family cook-out. That said, more than half of my count is high gravity malt-forward beers that won't get cracked until Thanksgiving or later. I have at least three verticals that I am planning to crack open with friends over the holidays, so my number will probably get pretty low by early January.

I have 1 bottle of 2016 Bigfoot that I'm "aging" and that's about it. Everything else gets consumed within days of purchase.

My cellar is hovering around 75 right now, and I am very proud of it. I have been making a concerted effort this year to build a respectable cellar as in the past I would never be able to hang on to stuff for long. The beers range from shelfies to hard to get stuff. I always have a nice selection of daily drinkers onhand, as well as a keg tapped at all times. I don't go into the cellar often, but next saturday I will likely be grabbing 3-6 bottles from the cellar for a party I am throwing.
