I try to keep a variety of beers in my rotation, but occasionally I'll go on a bit of streak, trying lots of different beers of a particular style because of one that originally piqued my interest. Obviously, seasonal conditions play a significant role in our choices, but I'm referring more specifically to shifts in behavior due to a surprising and/or pleasant experience with a beer of a particular style.

As an example, most recently I was on a hunt for really funky saisons/farmhouse ales after trying this beer, which is a great example of the style IMO (even if miscategorized as an IPA): http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/38666/161274/

This led me to dive headlong into saisons/farmhouse ales in general and to my realization that I really like the funky ones in particular (and that the beer that incited this really is exceptional).

How about you all? Have you gone on a streak of some sort recently, and, if so, did a particular beer spark your interest?

Recently I've been on a big Belgium kick. I've tried some duds so far but have had some really nice brews. Most recently, I really enjoyed Tripel Karmeliet (2014) .

I'm more of an IPA guy. But lately, I've been big on stouts, both non-bba and bba.

Wow. I haven't posted in forever but I can't resist.
I used to go the route of wanting super-high abv 2X IPAs and always loved the tropical side of many.
I've now taken a step back, not that I often enjoy "session IPAs," but rather high flavor/lighter bodied. Maine Lunch. Single Cut Full Stack IPAs. Barrier Money IPA.

I've been digging AndyGator recently. This year's batch is just so on point!

Pilseners and Gose/Geueze/lambics/sours lately. Pils and gose are bound to be my main session style this summer.

Tail end of an IPA kick trending back to lagers.

I have a cycle of Lagers to Stouts to Dopplebocks and then to IPAs.

Generally in winter I seek out Barleywines, Eisbocks and big doppelbocks but this winter I went after DIPAs and now find myself with a load of Gose, Gueuze, lambics, Berliner Weiss and other assorted sours.

I like any beer that tastes good on my lips and in my mouth  I have been on a 23 year streak of IPA/DIPAs, and most recently, a 7.5 year streak of stouts/barley wines (BA and non BA) which runs concurrently with my 23 year streak of IPA/DIPAs.

I'm planning on a barley wine heavy summer. You're approach was probably better than mine.

I am definitely on a stout kick lately. I keep thinking it'll change as the days grow warmer. But no, I'm still craving stouts.

    My favorites lately:

    Ten Fidy
    Breakfast Stout
    Plead the 5th
    Yeti Chocolate

I could live happily on a desert island with quantities of these stouts.

Cant stand most IIPAs as of late, but been loving IPAs. Also craving more stouts, which I oddly didn't during the cold weather months.

Maybe it is the coming summer or maybe it is because I just made one, but I am on a Pilsner kick right now.

    I just went on a single-IPA, made-in-California week-long kick. Now that it's over, I'm not sure what's next.
