What's your current kick?

    It's funny, to me at least, as I prefer IPAs but when trading I seem to get more stouts. So I'll usually drink my IPAs which leaves my fridge full of stouts.

    I'm switching seasons myself and focusing on lighter, summertime type beers like IPA's and Saisons. I'll still throw back a good stout, but not my first choice with the weather warming up.

    I think I overdid it with the IPAs a few weeks back, so now I'm enjoying Belgian ales.

    Good to know I'm not alone with my style sprees...I think there's another one coming on. I had an Alesmith ESB a couple weeks back and have since been really craving ESBs and amber ales.

    I'm apparently on a Bell's barleywine kick. My fridge is full of Saturn and 3rd coast old ale. Other than that I'm usually on an IPA kick

    I'm always on a German Pilsner kick, but a fine Dortmunder or Helles will do the trick as well. Can't seem to find a consistently fresh supply of any of them though, so inevitably I go on an IPA kick.

    I'm always on a Belgian kick, particularly BSDAs, but lately I find myself trying to exhaust the tripel universe, and drinking fewer IPAs/DIPAs.

    Drinkable old school beers. Stuff that was all the rage in the 90's and early 2000's but fell out of favor. Blonde ale, malty red, IPA's with carmel malts, fruited blonde/wheat ales, etc.
    The places that are still around and brewing those styles tend to do a bang-up job.

    For a while I was going after any massive IIPA I could get my hands on but the last 12 months or so I have just been craving pale/IPA that's under 6.5%. Anything with clean fresh hops but not overpowering malt.

    The problem with this is that low ABV pales fade so fast. You really have to drink fresh and local. If a brewery doesn't bottle date or can stamp, I wont buy it. That way I know I can always get something under a month old.

    Tis the season for saison. I've been drinking a lot of saisons lately. I just bought the 2015 Saison-Brett by Boulevard, Prairie Standard, and Prairie Eliza5Beth. I really enjoy saisons during the warmer months, and they go really well with most food especially grilled food which I've also been doing a lot of.

    I've been on a huge DIPA kick, as well as a Clown Shoes Brand kick. I do believe they are underrated as a brand, and that leads me to my most potent and effective kick, which is the hobbled backwards roundhouse to the display signs if there is no Space Cakes or Galactica available for purchase...
