What's your experience with Narwhal?

    I drank a 2012 Narwhal tonight. The reason I had a 2012 on hand is that I was disappointed with it when it was fresh. I put a couple of years on it and still find it doesn't hold up to FIS, Old Rasputin or Stone IRS. FIS has a better hop profile. Old Raspy has a better malt backbone, and Stone IRS has got the licorice profile down to a science. Each of these three Imperial Stouts also have a much better mouthfeel. Narwhal is almost as thin as a cola. Just my $.02.

    I wouldn't say that Narwhal is one of the Great (with a capital G) Impy stouts - but I do love it, and I do think it's a wonderful beer.
