I'd love to hit up 5 of the best brew pubs across the country with friends. What are you guy's favorite? Here in Chicago we have some great ones, Revolution, Atlas, Hay market, and Goose Island. Let me know what you think!

Have you been to Pollyanna in Lemont or Flossmoor Station in Flossmoor? Both are unique and fantastic places to visit. There are so many great brewpubs out there that you will have a hard time choosing 5. If I were you and your buddies I'd make a weekend trip to somewhere like Grand Rapids or Madison or Milwaukee and visit those brewpubs and branch out from there.

Prohibition Pig in Waterbury, VT is fantastic. It has a great selection of local favorites (Heady Topper, Hill Farmstead, Lawson's) in addition to the beers that they brew themselves. Also, the food is amazing. Best BBQ in Vermont.

Lost Nation in Morristown is awesome as well.

Outside Vermont: Ballast Point Tasting Room in San Diego, and Golden Road in Los Angeles are standout for me.

If you make it to eastern PA we have Selinsgrove Brewing, in Selinsgrove. Victory in Downington, Earth Bread and Brewery in Philly and Troegs in Hershey to name a few of the very good one's.

I agree, Prohibition Pig is a fantastic brew pub. Great craft beer options, and their own beer is pretty good too! Harpoon in Windsor, VT is a great location as well. Tours, beer, food, lots of outdoor seating for summer or winter (fire pit).

I'm from Wayne, PA, not sure if you've heard of it but its pretty close to Downington and Hershey. Both the Victory and Troegs tour were great!

Ommegang's brew pub is pretty fantastic, and it gets major bonus points for brewing beers that pair really well with food, for the most part. The food is typical, all-American brewpub fare, and is rib-stickingly delicious. Lunch there followed by the baseball Hall of Fame was easily the best day of our trip to the Finger Lakes, and there were some really good days in that trip.

I agree, but Cooperstown/Lake Otego is a bit of a drive from the Finger Lakes

Elysian Fields in Seattle. Not sure it's a true "pub" but food is pretty good and the variety of beers is usually really good too.

When I lived in Seattle, Big Time was my favorite brew pub. Food was just alright, but their beer is awesome.

Fort George in Astoria Oregon. 3 different areas to drink in (tap room, pub, and upstairs) and all 3 have different taplists and food menus. Awesome place.

Hopcat in Grand Rapids. Such an amazing selection and super friendly staff. I had a lot of my "training wheels" beers there during college and the bartenders were always happy to talk me through the styles and tasting notes.

    Plus, crack fries.

Not an actual brewpub, but New Glarus has a beautiful beer garden (or whatever you'd call it). If you're around in the summer, I'd highly recommend making a trip there. The beer pricing is great (and you get to keep your glass), and the site itself is really nice (the town is great, too).
