Someone already posted their 16-flight from Russian River, but here's mine from a couple weeks ago. I liked RR so much I went twice in my short trip . It's one of the best brew pubs for sure- food is very good along with beer selection.

I'm lucky to be local to FFF, great food, great beer, visit often. Also have good stuff from other breweries rotating.
Founders is always a fun time and I never want to leave when I go.

Another vote for Russian River. Both the flight and food were phenomenal. I'd throw Lagunitas in there as runner up just for the atmosphere.

I'm from West Chester. Haven't lived there since turning 21. I've heard that Victory is great. They just opened the brew pub tho right? Never have been-- gotta get back east soon.

I haven't gone out of my state very much at all for breweries, but 3 Floyds is always a good time. A lot of waiting, but if you hit it on the right day at the right time, it's a good time. About 10 minutes from my house is Barley Island which I have grown quite fond of after spending many days and nights there.

All my favorite local breweries don't serve food, so I have to go with Big Time in Seattle.

Just for food alone, I'd vote for Pfriem. Their beer is really good, but the food is better than any other brewpub food I've had. Also, when I got a flight, the waitress gave me two extra tasters for free because she overheard me mention those two beers. Awesome.

Only once have I been inside a brewpub and made the statement, "This is my perfect brewpub setting," and that was at 10 Barrel Brewing in Bend, OR. My review only rated them at the same score as the rDev (3.76), but there was just something about that place that I liked as far as the physical facility. Russian River, Bell's and Goose Island - Clybourn also come to mind.

Maybe I'm alone on this, but I did not find the food at Russian River to be all that great. A brewpub should pay as much attention to providing great food as it does to great beer. The food there was just so . . . meh.

I only had a pizza, and it was pretty good.
FFF food though is really good, and always changing, like a real chef runs the kitchen or something.

My personal favorite so far has been Goose on Clybourn.

But if you are looking for an easy trip from Chicago, take a little drive down I-65 to Lafayette, Indiana and stop in at Lafayette brewing company. Cool little spot at the second oldest brew pub in Indiana. Good beer, good food, nice people, cool building and space, and they even host concerts occasionally on the second floor.

    my favorites in this order...
    1. Shorts
    2. Russian River
    3. Jolly Pumpkin(Traverse City)
    4. 3 Floyds
    5. Sante Adairius

honorary mentions to Stormcloud and Kuhnhenn.

the only reason SARA is 5th is because they dont offer food. Aptos St BBQ saves the day though. also im not a fan of their location which is also why FFF is down low. the top 3 have great beer, great food, a cool vibe, and are in cool places. if going on beer and vibe alone then SARA wins for me.

I vote for Offshore Ale in Oak Bluffs because that's where I drank 11 cold brews in 1 hour. Obama was on the island when I did it.
