Milwaukee's Best Ice is what I used to drink. But not because it was good.

I am a Natty Ice guy. A few times a year in the shower after a good surf session on the beach. It has been a while though as my blonde ale took it's place. The only problem is my blonde is too good and I leave it out of the shower delaying my buzz a bit.

I remember drinking room temperature Natty Ice all the time out of the trunk of a buddies car after school when I was in high school. I haven't drank one since. Not much help I know but thanks for the memories!

Back in the early 90s, right around when I turned 21, there was a local brewpub that offered an Eisbock around New Year's Eve. You got a 10 oz. glass of 10% beer and my friends and I thought this was just about the greatest thing that had ever existed. I was just learning about the existence of non-macro beer styles at the time and this experience actually played a fairly pivotal role in opening my eyes to the wider possibilities.

Funny how the 10 oz, high ABV beer is fairly run of the mill these days.

If it weren't so damned expensive and limitedly available, it'd be Kuhnhenn Raspberry Eisbock. Because of that, I vote for Aventinus Eisbock, at 1/4 the price and year round availability, it's a damn tasty treat! But in taste alone, Kuhnhenn's Eisbocks are nigh impossible to beat.

Had a real bad time of it after too many Bud Ice's at the Kingdome once upon a time, but the "Doobie doobie dooo..." penguins are classic.

Unless you have to fish through your couch to find beer money, "non-macro eisbock" is the only answer.

I read the OP with the Twilight Zone theme playing in my head.

For American iced lagers, none. Only other type of iced beer I've had is Aventinus Eisbock, which is a freeze-distilled doppelweizen...so I guess you can call it a quadruple dunkelweizen?

That was my first. I've had 2 or 3 others, but the Aventinus Eisbock remains the standard for me. Great beer! Is that a regular offering these days? I haven't seen it for a long time, but that could just be a local distributor issue.

Some day when I have more disposable time, money and more reliable access to a genuine "walez, bro" beer, I think I'll have to try to trade for that.

I've actually almost no experience with macro ice beers. Once I split a 6-pack with a fair maiden on one of my less stellar dates, and once I bought a 12-pack of one (I forget which) on sale. Neither experience has converted me to them.

Ice beers were a big deal when I was a junior or senior in high school. We used to drink Icehouse whenever we could get it. We also drank Mickey's Ice, which I recall only seeing in 40oz. I used to think Bud Ice was all right, but I probably haven't had one in 15 years. I remember having an Old Style Ice once but I don't remember anything about it.

Big City Ice isn't bad, considering it's price point.

My store proudly carries KUL Ice. Contract brewed in La Crosse, WI by City Brewing. It's amazing! $9.99 a case!

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's regular. Most places seem to have it in stock year-round, so I figure it's at least released twice a year if not more.
