That was my take away as well. The OP seemed more concerned about abv and the assertiveness of flavor than calories.

I know you're not the type who sees value as the relationship between alcohol percentage and price... and I totally get the feeling of not wanting to pay the same price for a "lesser" product, but it's worth mentioning that it seems perfectly reasonable for Heineken 0.0 to be the same price as the flagship brand from a production standpoint. They're brewing a beer to make 0.0, and then they have to go through the process of alcohol removal (which I bet isn't cheap from a total overhead POV). After that they blend the beer with the added flavors. I'm in the dark regarding the costs involved - I'm just making logical assumptions.

@jesskidden - Supposedly, Heineken 0.0 has 50% more carbohydrates than regular Heineken.

Miller Lite seems to be the best in terms of calories/carbs/affordability to taste. Its my favorite.

Well, that explains more than the *they're working so hard to keep the alcohol out* BS -- now I know I'm not buying it anymore -- it's the carbs I'm trying to cut!

I just looked it up to see what the stats are:

    HEINEKEN LAGER
    5.0% ABV; Calories 142; Carbohydrates 11g; Fat 0g; Protein 2g

    HEINEKEN LIGHT
    3.3% ABV; Calories 99; Carbohydrates 7g; Fat 0g; Protein 1g

    HEINEKEN 0.0%
    0.0% ABV; Calories 69; Carbohydrates 16g; Fat 0g; Protein 0g

    That seals it.

Of course, it probably explains some of the reason it tastes pretty good for a NA beer.

Must be the carbs from that "natural flavor" ?

(Carbs, tho'? I thought everybody went to fuel injection...)

I once had a Pontiac with a direct injection carb.

(But we better be careful, we're headed down a path to kill another thread!)

I'm willing to cut non alcoholic beer some slack and only expect one miracle at a time (that of tasting like a regular beer). If they have to compensate with more calories and carbs to get there I'm fine with it. Even so I haven't yet tasted one which has had me fooled, not even Brooklyn Special Effects which has 22 grams of carbs per 12oz. They can work as a decent and refreshing beverage together with food, but that's it as far as I am concerned.

Those first two are long gone here, a shame, as they move more local stuff in.
