Since I live less than 10 minutes from Jack's Abby...
I can't possibly choose a single one of their beers, though.
I know the ones I'm not as into (not that they aren't excellent examples of the style; I just don't care for those styles) but I can't choose a favorite.

    local lagers?
    Two Roads 'ol factory pils
    Nebco pils is nice
    Gots to be fresh though.

There is no American lager, craft or otherwise, that is better than a proper German Lager.

I would go with mexican macro Bohemia Clara, it´s the best lager for my taste.

Fortunately for us here in North NJ we have the Ramstein line of beers produced at High Point in Butler - very well made and as far as I can tell, true to style German beers. They are usually on tap at the Pilsnerhaus in Hoboken and hold their own against very fresh kegs in from overseas. If I had to choose one I'd go with the Marzen, just a terrific beer.

I dont discriminate lagers, I am always willing to try them because I find them delicious. Sometimes though, I dont want a craft lager, sometimes all you need is a cold Mexican beer and you are set. Hard to beat that especially in Southern California. Cheers to all the lager drinkers!

I've been wanting to try it, but I haven't it reasonably fresh yet. It sounds tasty, though.

I guess I'll answer since I'm here. My favorite lager from Illinois is Metropolitan Heliostat.
