What's your favourite "drinking time"?

Since I retired my internal (beer) alarm moved up from 5:00PM to noon. And yes I screw up most of my projects and make messes in the kitchen making dinner and go to bed at 8:00 and toss & turn thinking about what beer to try at noon tomorrow.

 

I try to never drink before noon. Unless I'm on vacation. Or if I'm having a shitty day. Or fishing. Or just sneaking off with some buddies. Think I might to to rethink that noon bullshit.

 

Friday nite soon as I get home from work

 

Either daytime or maybe nighttime. But seriously, I really enjoy it when I can start in the afternoon and go until late that night; however, that takes some pacing, and sometimes I’m not the best at that.

 

I’m a first thing in the morning man. For the last 6 months or so I’ve mostly eschewed early am beer drinking to try to get on an afternoon schedule...ultimately, and recently, to no avail...I’ve always been a “lark” (early to bed, early to rise) whereas Mrs. Z is an “owl” who rarely goes to bed before 2-4 am...Me, I’m solidly into my day by 8 or 9am, and ready for a beer - Cheers!

Also, it's rare that I drink while fishing. Fishing is more important to me than drinking, and the way I fish is very physical. A lot of folks that know me assume that because I fish and drink, I'm drinking while fishing, think it's a party, and want to go fishing with me. Then they show up and I'm like, ok, we're gonna hike 2 miles to get to this one spot and you have to make perfect casts and not spook the fish. And then they never want to go fishing again.

 

2-3pm. Usually have 2-3 cans. Wind down by 5 or 6. Dinner. In bed between 8-9.

Most frequently, I like to drink beer while cooking dinner.

Other, more periodic favorite times would include...

1. Right after work on Friday.
2. At aba with good friends I have not seen in a long time.
3. Sitting on the shore of either Lake Michigan or Lake Superior, normally with either a can of Oberon or Two Hearted.

 

Saturday afternoon at 4:30 on the shady side of my yard. I like to start with a nice G&T, then beers to follow at some point

 

Not so much a time as a situation. In an establishment where libations are sold, with like minded individuals, usually while watching some type of sporting competition. Football, hockey, MMA, and auto racing mostly.

Im a big fan of go early, go hard and go to bed... I try not to drink Sunday through Wednesday but that is not a hard fast rule in these times.

5:00 p.m. is a good start time but always make exceptions for football, fishing, etc.

 

I agree with this idea. I really can’t mix booze with things I’m passionate about or creative outlets that I take seriously. The act itself loses value when beers are brought into the equation.

Even if I'm just working on or cleaning the boat, a beer at the marina is always great.

 

I love the happy hour extended timeframe (3-7). everyone once in a while it's nice to cut loose and daydrink a little
