Yeah- that's pretty unexpected. Maybe things would have been different a few years ago before 'sours' really took off. Who knows where it'll be in a few more years...

I voted 0-20%. I love IPAs just as of late there isn't any around me that are within it's 90day limit.

P.S. does this include Session IPAs? If so I have to change my vote.

Good question- I included the whole damn spectrum in my 'calculations', including IPLs.

I get an IPA pretty much any time I go out for a beer, and will nab Ithaca Flower Power or Wormtown Be Hoppy if I'm buying for home. Also my psycho buddies take trips to Vermont what seems like every month and get a fresh supply of Heady Topper or to Western Mass or other awful places for good beer... so there's that in the mix.
When in other parts of the world it's Belgian heavies or German lagers, or a (gin)martini.
So I went 61-80%... Veering towards the 80% mark.

I should've also, but I need that closure of absolute.

I figure they are all just slightly different ways of scratching the same itch; not as absolute, but still a tidy package.

Wow. I knew IPAs walked with swagger around here, but the posts in this thread are really eye-opening!
What I've had recently: Vienna, Oktoberfest, keller, doppelbock, schwarzbier, brown, heffe. It's clearly Oktoberfest season. I'm not sure what % that would make me but it sure isn't close to 50%.

Based on my overall spreadsheet, only 13% (total, out of everything I drink- including meads and ciders). So, that total was way lower than I expected, since I feel like I drink a lot of IPAs, but maybe that's a recent/seasonal thing. When I first started the spreadsheet, I hated IPAs, so that may be why other styles have such a jump.

I've had three different beers so far tonight and they have all been IPAs. The next beer will also be an IPA. I even frequently dream about them. Usually in a negative sense though, like I open my fridge expecting to see the dozen or so different IPAs I usually have on hand only to find it empty. Or I walk into a beer store and the shelves are bare.

If all other beer styles ceased to exist I would probably be ok with it. Which is not to say that I don't enjoy other styles. Just nowhere near as much as IPAs. I've been this way for years and if anything my love/fixation/enjoyment/addiction is only increasing. IPAs are seriously one of my favorite things in life.

I'm fairly burnt out on IPAs so it's in the 0-20% range right now, stouts and porters own most of the space in my refrigerators.

When I buy beer, I almost always try to buy something I have never tried. When I first got into craft, My IPA consumption was probably around 70%. After trying a fair amount of the quality IPA's available in my area and discovering and falling in love with other styles, my IPA consumption has fallen considerably to probably around 15-20%. However, most of my repeat buys are of either IPA's or stouts.

Looking at my reviews, they comprise about 1/3 of the beers I've reviewed/ticked. (That was actually surprising because I didn't think it was that high.) Considering what I drink at home along with what I've reviewed, I'd say I'm a "tweener", probably closer to 50 to low 50% range and more D-IPA's than IPA's.

13-15% of the beers I've drank this year were single IPAs. If I open up the definition to include the likes of Belgian IPAs, White IPAs, Imperials, and Triples, the percentage goes up near 22%. I might bump that number a couple points to account for all the Fort George 3-Way IPA I drank this year.

I like variety. By the end of the year, I expect my numbers to end up something like 15% IPAs, 15% stouts, 15% saisons, and 55% other.

I answered 20-40%, but that is for the year. If I were to answer for the last couple months it would be below 10%. In the colder months I go for more IPAs and some stouts/Belgians. In the summer I lean more toward lighter stuff with some IPAs thrown in for variety.
