What's your "nightcap" beer?

I would stick to something like a stout, porter, barleywine, old ale, etc... but nothing too sweet. For instance, I literally had this beer last night an hour before bed. Worked like a charm.

If I've already had a few, I prefer lighter abv beers for that "one last beer". Like 6% or less. One last beer closer to 10% or higher doesn't work for me.

 

Drinking beer right before bed is amateurs. Cut off the beer a few hours before bed, and go with either a small pour of good booze, or drink water.

 

Usually a Youngs Double Chocolate Stout or a Breckenridge Vanilla Porter.

 

My night cap is usually tea or water.

 

The last beer I drink before bed...

 

My nightcap beer is whichever one I'm too drunk to finish.

 

I usually have one of my crappy homebrews as a nightcap. By then I convince myself that it is good.

 

Weyerbacher insanity is my preferred night cap.
