1968 or 2021, Truer words have never been spoken. When it comes down to it and it's one of those days you need a beer, any beer will do.

I'll add a vote for Jack's Abby here - Shipping Out of Boston has been my most recent "go to" when I just want a beer to drink. They have a few candidates in this category for me.

Specific beers are hard for me to pin down, but the "go to" breweries are Jack's Abby, Founders, and Allagash. Harpoon figures in there somewhere as well - they don't get much love these days, but I find their beers mainly enjoyable, consistent, and certainly priced right. Just had this conversation at home - those four breweries are always represented in our house.

I turn to the locals for my old reliables. Dancing Gnome's Lustra and Brew Gentlemen's General Braddock's are dialed in, and always available. If I'm away from home SNPA is my standby.

New Mexico is kind of like Berlin in 1970-one small area(Albuquerque/Santa Fe) are flooded with good beer, the rest of us in small towns have diddley squat. I bet I could find Bells in Albuquerque, but down here we don't even get many of the excellent beers produced in Albuquerque and Santa Fe-Santa Fe Brewery is an exception, kind of-we can find several of their beers in most stores, but they are the exception. La Cumbre brews an excellent selection, all we can get is the IPA and their wheat. Marble is the same, out of their lineup we get the Red Ale, IPA and wit.

not quite sure if i have an old reliable, however, it should be noted that your average Irish pub has an abysmal selection of beer, Guinness, Smithwicks, Carlsberg and Heineken are the four constants, pubs very seldom having many or any craft options, even from local breweries, especially outside of Dublin. of the aforementioned four, i guess Guinness is my old reliable, pint of plain is your only man and all that good stuff.

When they were making it on a regular basis, it was always Lagunitas Sucks. Today, thanks to regular distribution to the Nashville market, it's definitely 3Fs Zombie Dust.

    Depends on the mood.

Prairie Bomb! is my favorite shelf beer.

Arrogant Bastard is the beer that got me into craft beer.

    Hamm's is my lawnmower beer.
