2 I have not seen mentioned, Victory Mad King's Weiss is terrific. If you want a hoppier Hefe style, but not necessarily a wheat, definitely get your hands on some Otter Creek Fresh Slice. Terrific and now available in cans!

New Glarus Dancing Man is the best wheat beer I've had that is brewed in the states. It blows Oberon out of the water. Their Berliner Weiss might be even better, if you enjoy that style.

If you like hoppier Wheat beers, try Gumballhead or Fortunate Islands. Both are excellent. FI is a touch better and usually fresher... and canned, a plus in my book.

Weihenstephaner Hefe is my favorite brewed outside the states.

Can't go wrong with either one.

The two I would suggest to anybody who either is or is not a craft beer fan. I'd also add Oberon.

Nope, you are not the only one who loves it. I just tried it recently and loved it, so much that I'm going back to get more. A great slightly different hefe.

I could mention some beer you can't get in Maryland. One of these that comes to mind is Upstate's India Pale Wheat and their Summer Haze, which is sweeter without the hop bite. Right now they only distribute in NY.
Closer to your home, I'd recommend looking into Port City Optimal Wit- the addition of Grains of Paradise gives it a nice spicy flavor.
Oy, I almost forgot Captain Lawrence Birra Decicco Limone Luppolo is one of the best beers for summer. Let's show some love for this.

312 from Goose Island is delicious beer.

I recently got introduced to the Gose style in the form of Off Color's Troublesome.
Off Color is a fairly small Chicago brewery so probably a limited distro but I love it and will continue to seek out this style.

Try Ayinger's Ur-Weisse and Weihenstephaner's Dunkel Weisse for a summer night dessert beer. Dunkelweisse aren't appreciated enough as a whole. So smooth, so delicious. God I love those beers.

Also, check out some Kristalweizen's. All the flavors of a hefe with a mouthfeel more akin to a witbier. Can't go wrong. Otherwise, everyone's listed most of the best German and American hefe's. Have fun! Still one of my favorite styles.

Side note, +1 for Yuengling's Summer. Very pleasantly surprised at how good that was, and quite happy about it. Love me some Yuengling.

I've only just started expanding to Germans and Belgians over the past year or so and this has easily become one of my favorite beers.

Just had a solid Hefe, Laka Laka from Horny Goat. You can't go wrong with Namaste, UFO, and Weihenstephaner.

Now as far as "sweeter" beers go, my all time favorite summer beer is Hala Kahiki from Rivertowne.
