True. My eyes were bigger than my stomach there as all I saw was Wheat Whiskey and Bernheim and got excited.

Has anyone heard any news about this beer? Possible release time frame?

It will be released one week before you can't find any.

On a serious note, I'd like to know as well.

It's been rumored that GI was very unhappy with initial taste tests and that it will be pushed back until 2013 so they can fix whatever the problem was. BCBS Cherry is supposedly going to replace wheat whiskey as 2012s one-off

    Sounds awesome to me!

Ehhhh. Wasn't overly impressed with the cherry bcs. Cherry generally doesn't belong in stouts As a primary ingredient IMO. Not a fan of "cherry stouts"

I just heard today from a friend who heard from someone else that they packed rye barrels with cherries this past week. Supposedly it's going to be a Cherry Rye BCBS.

I missed out on them tapping it during DLD so I haven't had it but I'm certainly interested to try it.
Theyre filling them much earlier than they filled Bramble barrels last year, wasn't that around october?

Yeah it was definitely much later than July. Maybe it's due to the difference in fruit character? My buddy also said that the guy said they're going to age it on the cherries "for at least a month" whatever that means. Apparently the guy who told my buddy all of this was there helping fill the barrels. This is all through the grape vine though, so take it for what it's worth.

Yeah you never can tell with clouds second hand sources. Hopefully this means cherry will come out at the same time as regular instead of many months after :stuck_out_tongue:

I also heard from someone who stuffed these barrels with cherries.

:slight_frown: How many more months until I can drown my sorrows in 2012 BCBS?

Not sure? Didn't it come out sometime in November last year? Hopefully earlier than that though!

the real question is - since the namesake of the thread "isn't ready yet" - will it be "ready" by next season?

    :astonished:
