When did Goose Island come to NJ?

must be coinciding with the pennsylvania launch of goose island. we just got it here.

 

It was available at Giants Stadium starting in november draft only. Word at the time was that it would be available state wide in February/March time frame. So this seems to be accurate with Spirits getting it. I'm assuming rollout in PA/NJ is very similar time wise...

I haven't heard anything about it retail wise, but somebody told me they have GI on tap at the Prudential Center now.

 

Goose Island's been on tap at Prudential for at least a month, and one of my local stores posted pictures of facebook yesterday of sixers of a couple GI beers

 

I would expect that Goose Island will be distributed via the regional NJ Anheuser Busch houses, not Hunterdon. I know I've seen it on the website of at least one North Jersey AB distributor, Northern Eagle in Carlstadt.

Brick would be in Ritchie and Page's A-B region- and they don't have a website.

 

what're they pouring growlers of? im gonna be back in the area this weekend so i might have to pick one up.

I heard bottles were supposed to start hitting stores in March but it keeps getting pushed back. Also I heard that the Bud salesmen are having a hard time adjusting with GI in their portfolio as most places that usually buy Bud arent familiar with GI. And the bud salesmen are basically order takers and dont have experience trying to sell a beer to a bar/store.

I saw on facebook that Shoppers Vineyard in clifton has bottles of GI Ipa, honkers and 312

 

Blue Monkey in Merchantville is having a Goose Island event next Wednesday March 7th. No draft list as of yet

 

Just rang the Blue Monkey...looks like a pretty standard assortment (no BCBS, etc) but still really excited:

He said they still weren't sure exactly what they were getting but it would be 6-7 beers.

 

bombers or 6 packs? maybe i'll stop there tomorrow, it's right by my house. selection is usually pretty good there

 

I just saw a whole display of GI beers today in Fort Lee- I didn't notice the Nut Brown, but did see the rest as well as Pepe Nero. Came home with some Sofie.
