Seems like it should only be about a month away, anyone know what the deal is?

    This site ruins everything.

I find that assessment highly anecdotal and of dubious validity.

Because you thought maybe the GI Belgian Fest would just go unnoticed and you alone would attend? Such days are long gone. Become a friend of 5am lines and 5 second long ticket sales

...or a GI MBA. I'm still 15 away from mine but in the past, that has guaranteed a shot at Belgian Fest & Stout Fest tix.

I am thoroughly ashamed to say I didn't know about this. Worry not, if for some reason I hear about tickets before this site, I'll BM you first! Nowbi have to go get a MBA card

From personal experience, it's a total crapshoot if you actually get an email from Goose about anything. I wrapped up my MBA years ago and have never heard a peep about anything since then. I've asked at the reservations desk about email notifications and they didn't know a thing. I've emailed any/all of the email addresses I can track down and never heard back about anything. Point being, if my experience is any indication, I wouldn't count on that MBA doing anything for you.

Huh, well that's a bummer. One of the bartenders mentioned they're way behind in engraving names on the wall. That I don't care so much about, but getting access to special events would be appreciated, particularly after Stout Fest tickets sold out in about two seconds.

Obviously, a number of people are on the Magic MBA Email List -- plenty so that damn near all of the Stoutfest tickets were picked up before the general sale. So... your mileage may vary.

If Goose is committed to these events moving forward, I really think an afternoon and an evening session would be the way to go. Maybe give out fewer drink tickets to make sure kegs will last for two sessions (and make sure those pouring the beer actually take the tickets)? Or, hell, move it to Fulton -- the brewpub does decent beer as often as not, but we'll all agree that the big stars at these events, between the two Goose entities, are coming out of Fulton.

I'm sure you are a nice guy.. and will share a beer with you someday, I assume. Probably at this fest even.

But the attitude of "Accepting" lining up at 5 AM is a horrid one. This site perpetuates things like that. Hell, they created it. It's not a good thing. Perhaps we'll just have to agree to disagree. But, other sites and communities seem to hate it and I know the vast majority of industry folks I've discussed it with hate it as well.

Ticket sales are ticket sales. For Goose events, they go fast because they are limited (and they don't want to increase the size of the event - I don't blame them either). Just something we all have to deal with. So, I'll agree with you there.

With that said, Belgian Fest usually holds a lighter attendance (or keeps tickets around longer) because it's on a Sunday and doesn't involve stout.

I'm on my way! Are they still regularly using the mailing list and getting MBA members advanced tickets to most GI events?

"still"? This MBA holder (since '08?) has received a whopping zero emails about any GI event. Though! If you do get a ticket, they might let you in one hour early (when the brewers get to walk around and taste stuff) if you show your completed MBA card.

Ya, my wife and I both got MBA emails on Friday and easily bought tickets Saturday. They've been pretty good about sending emails to us two MBA'ers.
