Im hoping to get a friend of mine to send me some when it comes out. Also does anyone know of a good bottle shop in the Farmington Hills, MI area for that beer and other american wild ales like it?

La Roja is year round, unless you are referring to the Grand Reserva which isn't on a set schedule. But some was just released a couple months back, so it probably won't be released for a while.

Is there a big difference between those two? Ive have the grand before and loved it. Is it possible to find that anywhere up there?

La Roja is a year-round beer and is relatively easy beer to find. Most of the better beer stores around SE Michigan should have it in stock. Holiday Market in Royal Oak, Champane's in Warren. Neither of those places is around the corner from FH, but they're not too terribly far. Meadows Fine Wine is in the area (http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/21588/view=beerfly) but I've never been. Enjoy!

    Edit: Beaten to the punch

GR is a brewery (and brew-pub) only release, you won't find it anywhere in distribution.

The GR is more sour for sure. It is brewery only and it sold out pretty quick. They won't be able to get any until it is released again at the restaurant in Ann Arbor. In regards to a good store in/near Farmington Hills have them go to Plum Market on Orchard Lake Road in West Bloomfield. They should have the regular La Roja at a good price.

Meadows is a great store (good budies with the owner)but they don't get a whole lot of JP stuff in. Not very good odds of getting La Roja there. Couldn't hurt to check though.

Really? I guess I haven't looked recently, but I'm pretty sure there are plenty of stores in Chicago that have it.

I've been looking for it in the NW Chi-burbs for at least 2 months and havent seen any. I assumed it was out-of-season too.

I've been looking for it as well in the NW suburbs of Chicago as well as Kenosha and haven't seen in in a few months.

I guess I didn't realize La Roja was so hard to come by as of late... I have about 2 cases from 2011 I've been sitting on.

La Roja was sold out at the distributor for the past few months. It just came back in to stock this week. You should be able to find some now, but it is still in limited supply. Once the new Northern United brewery is up and running in Dexter, this problem should fix its self.
