When does Parabola hit Austin?

You know, that seems to happen fairly often (or, at least, more often than it should). Why does this happen, and what can be done to prevent it in the future?

 

I honestly wish I knew. I don't even work in Beer and Wine and I feel like I'm more concerned about it than the guys that work in the department. It happened with BCBCS and Backyard Rye too. I work tomorrow, I'll ask Russ about it if he's there. It's apparent though that someone isn't doing their job somewhere.

 

I'm in DFW and it happens up here, too at our CM stores...I know it pisses off our Beer and Wine people, mostly because of how people like me keep bugging them for certain beers...

 

Oh, sure...I get that, but how hard is it to send out the UPC code as soon as it's created? I know that breweries put it on their glossy sell sheets, so it's not like it's a secret...doesn't seem like Spec's or Total Wine have these issues...I know they specialize in alcohol, but they buy in volume...just strange and frustrating...

 

Yeah it's definitely company wide. I was walking through the department and had a guy ask me today if we had gotten Wine Barrel Noir. If someone's randomly asking me, I know the guys in the department are probably getting it all day long.

In any case, you shouldn't have any problems with Parabola, as we've sold it before. Hopefully we'll see it this week then!

 

It happens at Specs quite often as well.

 

just read on twitter that Houston market should get it Thursday, no other news. Apparently this is "it will get here when it gets here and you should be happy with what you get."

Drops in DFW tom as well according to everyone I talked to. FWIW, Specs Dallas is apparently holding all of theirs (and their Sucaba as well) until an event with one of the brewers so that the bottles can be signed before being sold.

 

Sounds like I'm not getting shit done tomorrow....

Yeah, the sad part is I already have 3 bottles from trades I have not opened yet and STILL WANT MORE...sigh...
