If I'm refilling with the same beer, I usually don't bother rinsing. Unless there's lacing or sediment at the bottom of the glass.
If I'm going for another beer, I rinse a couple times, don't bother with a full wash and dry.
If I'm at a tasting, Iusually don't bother rinsing either...

After having my first beer, I empty my dishwasher, put in my dirty glass, run the dishwasher with simply my glass in it, wait for said glass to cool, then I pour my second beer. Repeat same steps for beer three, if necessary. Drinking is such a process.

Funny, I did the same thing last night with the same beer since after the first one, I was much too eager for the 2nd. But usually it depends on how lazy I am and how many I've had. More beer = fewer new glasses.

Hate to burst your simple question bubble, but this has actually been brought up several times before.

I rinse out the frosted NR bottle and pour the next can into the now-clean bottle after letting sit in the freezer for a while and continue to drink really fast.

Can't say that I really drink more than 1 of the same beer. I do drink more than one of the same style and wash the glass out between them.

Wow, I didn't realize this was a big issue. I'm friends with the few bartenders that I see, and they usually just give me a new glass while giving me a look that says "I'm fucking with you". I didn't realize they were just doing their job. While the rule makes perfect sense, I've never thought about it or been aware of it.

I'm still going to request that I use the same glass though, especially with bartenders I don't know.

I'll wash if its a new beer, but for the same beer just keep rolling with the same one

I like to give a quick rinse between beers...it just washes away any dried up head on the glass. They say beer begins to diminish in quality the minute it hits light and O2...so I just wash away the "old" beer crust on the glass and start fresh. I mean, why not?

The only time I will switch is if I need a different glass, but no I would never rinse. In the summer if I start with a hefe in my hefe glass then switch to and IPA or a lager or something then I'm switching to a pint glass. As far as rinsing, I'm to lazy to dry, and Id' rather have residual beer in my next beer than water left from rinsing.

Wait that's kind of a lie. I just remembered that when I'm drinking really slow I sometimes switch glasses in between. If I drink a beer then don't grab another one for another 45 min to an hour Ill grab a new glass.

In the UK it's not uncommon to have the same glass filled repeatedly - I don't have an issue with it at all - in fact I prefer it

I think it's a sanitation issue, especially when sloppy bartenders touch the faucet to the glass like barbarian beast people.

The way you're drinking those babies, you need a second person to do it properly. That person keeps opening new bottles and pouring them in so your glass doesn't run dry and you can keep glugging in one smooth and seamless operation. Enjoy! Can't wait to get some Sucks

Maybe I'm overstepping here, but I think anyone who washes a glass between pours of the same beer is a certifiable lunatic.

Obviously bars are a different story. Part of what you're paying for is a clean glass and service. Plus, there are health and safety issues involved with refilling a customer's glass

Just a quick rinse in case some were going down slow (get rid of any stickiness on the outside as well.)

What hasn't been? I've also seen people post that same comment many times before.
