I’ve had 31 beers from Sierra Nevada, and although I really wouldn’t rate any of them as the “King Kong” of beers, nonetheless they have all been solid. Does anyone disagree? Please post your thoughts here. Cheers!

SNPA and IPA Hop Hunter still hit the spot on a hot day.

Also, their stout is quite alright.

I dunno man, they are quite “big” so maybe that doesn’t phase some of us craft advocates.

Sierra Nevada has brewed beers that I didn't care for because I don't enjoy the style. Otra-Vez comes to mind. Since I didn't expect to like it I was not let down. Otherwise no. That is saying something because Sierra Nevada is held to the highest standards. It always meets them.

Yes. The Brauhaus Riegele collab was out of this world.

Seriously one of my favorite breweries, with an excellent lineup encompassing a wide variety of styles. They are my first choice in the "one brewery for life" derby.

One of the most consistently good and widely distributed (not everyone exclusively goes to local taprooms) craft breweries. They've reached and maintained their status for good reason, and kudos to them

    Cheers

Sierra Nevada let me down when I found out they're not located in Nevada. Whut? :astonished:

I agree. I enjoy the Pale Ale and the Torpedo very much, but Otra Vez has the distinction of being one of very few beers that I drain poured. The taste seemed off, and there was something about seeing "stuff" floating in it that just didn't sit well.

I'm a big SN fan, but their Okto collabs haven't wowed me.

Just to continue to beat the drum...the lack of coffee stout 6 packs. They would get a lot more of my money if they released this as a seasonal, fall/winter release.

It's disappointing that they don't release that Vienna lager in a stand-alone six pack. When the sampler packs were still available it was my favorite beer out of the bunch. It doesn't have to be a year-round beer or anything but at least a seasonal release.

My only disappointment was the cancellation of the seasonal mixed twelve packs. The 4 or 5 of our hoppy beers plus 1 or 2 of something else pack doesn't have the same allure.

Seriously, the Mills River facility was very impressive. Definitely a must visit if you are passing through. Even impressed my kids and Coors Light drinking mother-in-law.

I agree with this 100% I used to buy their mixed packs all the time, but ever since they went to the all hoppy mixed packs I seem to pass on them more often than not. I know IPA's are all the craze right now, but I defiantly miss the different variety of beers.

It has been mentioned by others: I too am disappointed in their business decision to no longer produce seasonal mix-packs. They have also made other business decisions over the past 1-2 years I am not thrilled about as a customer of SN beers.

For the most part they produce quality beers but their release of a Brut IPA was a disappointing beer from a beer style perspective.

I wish the 'new' Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. well but I really preferred the 'old' Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. better.

    Cheers!

Pretty much every beer I've had from them has been very good to great. I know people didn't care for it much, but I really miss their ESB they produced for a few years as a spring seasonal......loved that hoppy ESB (early spring beer).

Never had one of their beers that I thought was bad. This year's Oktoberfest collab was disappointing to me, but admittedly I have huge expectations for those beers. To me there are a solid reliable option for good beers.

Of their entire portfolio (well the many beers I have tried) the only beer I can remember disappointing me was Torpedo. It came with the fanfare surrounding Citra hop, but didn’t resonate with me. I ought to try it again to remind myself why or see if it can change my mind.

It has been a while, but one of their earlier attempts at an IPA in the mid 2000's was pretty bad IMO. They called it "English Style" or something to that effect, but I don't think that was even in the ballpark.

One of the most consistent breweries there is. A favorite of mine for sure. Two of the Oktoberfest collabs (Mahrs and Bitburger) weren't to my liking but were received well by other people. Also, I really wish they would bring back Tumbler and put it in 6 packs.

Can't say that they have. There are SN beers I don't care for, but they're always available and very well priced. Plus, SNPA is pretty much the standard for hoppy pale ales and I can get that shit literally everywhere. It's amazing.

The only thing I would say has really disappointed me are their wet/fresh hop beers. But other than that...

I think Sierra Nevada is the brewery every small brewery should strive to be. They have done just about everything right.

Goes double for the kölsch they relegated to the mix packs that are 'no more'.
