I have a mini fridge and a ice chest converted for homebrew kegs. If I have so much beer, I put the beer on top of my mini fridge... If I have too much after that, I drink beer till there is room in my fridges.

the nice thing with bcbs is you can stash it in a nice cool basement and forget about it. it ages so well, had a 2008 this week, pure deliciousness.

I have 15 bottles of it in my fridge and can't wait to see how it evolves over the next 5 years

I have gotten about 16 I think in trades, drank most all of it, thankfully getting more, it is so good. I have a five year vertical that I intend to drink with friends around Christmas, should be fun.

well, I have blown up my trade partners pretty hard, but it is the benefit of having an IL trade partner.

I think it does suck a little that places around here just got some BCBS and got so little of it that its already gone while other areas get so much that people can buy cases of it. That being said I don't have a problem with someone buying large quantities.

I just hope you're not "hoarding" the Heady Topper like you're "hoarding" BCBS...

... because if you are, then yes, you do have a problem.

I think when it comes to BCBS you can't have enough since it's basically the currency used in trades.

For starters, I hope you realize that Heady Topper is meant to be drank as fresh as possible. It's rotting away in your cellar.

As for a collection - you're well on your way on the tried and true road of the classic beer geek cellaring problem. You are buying way faster than you can drink, and unless you plan on changing that, you will never catch up.

"How can you drink them if you don't have them." That's pretty deep right there.

Yeah, like me, you're dancing back & forth over the line. And that's from my biased perspective...cuz I don't want to think of myself crossing over to THAT side. But alas, my Millenium Edition Old Raspy is winking at me, shaking his head in pity...:slight_frown:

Heady Topper and basement should never be in the same sentence on Beer Advocate!
