I haven't had most of the IPAs around the DFW area. I said that I don't see why people rave about the hazy IPAs.

They tasted like raw hops. The $Texas was slightly interesting because there was a slight sweet grape flavor on the front end. But the Extra Pulp just had the same piney fruity hop aromas that are so predominate with hoppy beers around here.

They tasted like water to me with no malt backbone to even try to stand up to the hops.

But then I really don't enjoy drinking IPAs most of the time because they are extremely boring to me.

Interesting, soooooo, perhaps they’re not for you?

Maybe. Maybe not. I crave IPAs occasionally, especially when the wife goes out of town (it reminds me of college).

Most of the time though I don't drink them because I get bored of them and I find beers with both noticeable hop AND malt much more interesting.

But even then I think it was fairly clear that these beers are especially not for me. I could tell some mouthfeel but the beers tasted more like when I've tried making tea from hops.

The FB hype on this brewery is nuts. I'm going to go get some more of their beer next weekend and see how their stouts are (along with some new hazy IPA they're releasing). But as it stands, their IPAs are just "pretty good." They're very bitter which is fine by me, but doesn't really jive with the NEIPA style guidelines.

Not to knock TP, I think so far I'm happy with them and hope to drink more. Make it hazy and watch the people go crazy, I guess.

Had their A Nu Start Triple IPA today and it's damn good. Plan on going out to get cans tomorrow.

stopped by TP and was pretty impressed since it is a new brewery. Everything I tried was good. Good addition for DFW
