Is it really that big of a deal taking a year off from something like BCBS to save money? Does anyone here have any willpower? I may have to skip Sucks this year because I'm loaded up and want to drink down my stock, really doesn't bother me.

When Black Tuesday goes on sale, when Chocolate Rain goes on sale, when Gray Monday goes on sale...and that's just the Bruery.. Also when Mother of All Storms goes on sale. I know, First World problems.

I wish BCBS would hit my wallet hard...so hard to get more than 2 12oz bottles at a time out here in CA. I WANT all variants!!!:slight_frown:

I agree. I was only able to snag 2 BCBS 12 oz bottles on Black Friday. Have been none in the area since.

My budget stays about the same year round. I've been cutting out drinking Miller Lite at the bowling alley and just bring in a flask. $5 in pop/whisky compared to the $35 on crap beer puts a lot more money back in the wallet for Founders, Bells, New Holland, Dark Horse, and Shorts.

Bourbon county release gets more expensive every year. Dark Lord day. And all the expensive stouts released in between.

Summer i lighten up and hit mostly 6 pack IPAs

This is the time of year where I end up spending the most on beer. It all starts with Oktoberfest...rolls in to Pumpkin, and straight on through the Christmas and winter Ales and stouts.
Fortunately, this is also the time of year when many beers are cellarable, so you can stock up for the year.

I have literally lived off of canned soup and microwave dinners for a couple of weeks to be able to afford some decent beer. It sounds obsessive and irresponsible, but my take on it is that everyone has something they won't compromise on no matter how broke they get. Some insist on running the heater and paying a big gas bill. Some demand access to a pool in every dwelling they have. Some just won't leave the grocery store without Coca Cola and god help you if you suggest they buy Pepsi. For me, it's beer.

Thankfully, canned-food weeks are few and far between, if they bother to show their face at all anymore. For times like those, Weihenstephaner and Samuel Smith got my back with awesome wallet-friendly brews when I'm running particularly low on funds.

October was pretty bad this year. Framboise for a Cure and Cable Car day in the same month was brutal.

Beer budget is hit hard today. Found out today the business my husband and I both work at is closing January 13. Looks like we'll be buying cheap scotch when the cellar is dry

This last week has been painful for me, with release after release, it's not only been expensive, but time consuming as well. I can't wait for spring to come, as that's when I feel a fair drought of solid must-trys to come around.

The winter. I normally don't buy bombers except for stouts and sours, and stouts usually are released in the winter. The BCS was particularity hard on the wallet. Spring and summer, I'm all about trying different session beers, or drinking PBR.

I hope you're irrigating the liver and kidneys with a lot of water in between.
