Also, while I know they're not the same beer, I prefer FBS over KBS.

I agree on BBPt5. I had it before I had ever tried regular Pt5 and didn't understand what the big deal was. Then I had the regular version and at least began to understand a little bit, as it was very good.

But my answer is probably going to get me ridiculed, so I will caveat by pointing out that I feel the gap between these two beers is exceedingly small and that I would happily take either one, but that I slightly prefer the non-barrel aged version better:

    Abraxas over BA Abraxas :grimacing:

While I enjoyed the BA version, I like regular Bomb! better. Got ripped to shreds on the local beer trading FB group when I said that so I'm glad to see I'm not alone...

I'd have to go with Victory at Sea among the others mentioned already.

Not sure how I missed this one. Probably moves to the top of my list.

My answer for this will always be Voodoo's Grande Negro Voodoo Papi. I had the non-barrel aged version at the first Barrel Room Collection release in 2013 and pretty much feel that it was one of the best beers (if not the best beer) I've ever had. Don't get me wrong, the Apple Brandy and Buffalo Trace versions are fantastic, but for me this beer shines without the barrel.

I will second/third/fourth the sentiments about Xocoveza.

I'm fairly open minded and easy to please but there was just nothing special about this, especially with its price tag. I just think the original cant be improved upon.

Old Rasputin > the ba version. Plus the price was ridiculous

Maybe it's because I haven't had too many, but I have yet to have a barrel-aged beer that really WOWed me. Any widely distributed barrel-aged beers that I should be on the look out for?

Yup I've had all 4 barrel aged variants, and while all good, none of them I enjoyed as much as the original.

While I don't think Victory Dark Intrigue was bad (like many here on BA), I didn't think it was better than regular Storm King.

Grimm double negative is amazing compared to the piss poor barrel versions.

What have you had? I am admittedly not an expert on the distribution of beer in New Brunswick.
