I am new to both this community as well as trading in general so I need some wisdom from you all. I have made two successful trades so far. Recently, I have set-up a trade with another person who has a good reputation on BA. We were in rather frequent communication leading up to me buying the beer for him, and then out of norm he goes silent for about a week. Last Saturday - after I sent an email asking if he was still good to go on this trade - stated that he was and work has been very busy, but that he was absolutely still good to go and would be sending his package later that day but if not on Monday. I sent him his package Monday and it has arrived at his location

Last Saturday was the last I have heard of him. I am starting to freak a bit, I have sent a couple messages asking him if he has received it and he hasn't replied. I will admit he hasn't posted on BA since last Saturday, but his account shows him on here a couple of times this week. Should I start to freak out? He had me send it to his business which is a Retail Wine, Beer, & Spirits store and the store itself has received lots of good press. I want to continue to give him the benefit of the doubt but I am starting to wonder if I am just being optimistic. Thoughts? Advice?

Giving someone the benefit of the doubt is a good thing. Letting him know you expect to hear from him by a specific date is more than fair.

A couple things, people that have communication issues and "life" getting in the way before the trade is made, have a much higher chance of having communication issues and "life" getting in the way when it comes to them fulfilling their end of the trade. Also I'm always going to get concerned once my trading partner has my beer in hand and I don't have a tracking number or good communication. That's the moment they get an ultimatum.

Sunglasses and cigar in profile picture might also be a colossal flashing neon red flag.

If he has a good rep I wouldn't freak out yet. Sometimes people with a good rep can lean on it a little too heavily - they know they're going to ship it to you and they are legitimately busy so they don't worry about the hyper-communication often required with a new trader.

Two weeks and nothing is about the right time to start worrying...

It may be lack of intelligence on my part, but as these types of posts get more frequent, it would be a lot easier to ferret out the diagnosis of whether the OP has been screwed already or on the verge of becoming screwed if the events described also had the date of each event. Hard to keep track of otherwise.

Maybe if he has regular trading partners listed maybe try n contact one of them. Maybe they know how to get a hold of easier

He said he was new to the community and here, so he probably does not have any...

Martin123012 was referring to the questionable trader who "has a good reputation on BA."
He was saying maybe one of his listed trade partners could shed some light / get a hold of him...

OP, if you have not heard anything yet even with this thread, let us know who the fuck it is.

I am sick of people playing the "life happened" card especially coupled with excuses for delays or silence.

Whether he ships or not, there are at least a few BAs that no longer want to deal with this person.

You could always call the store...

OP = Original Poster, meaning the person who started the topic, which in this case is you!

Reading this thread while being worried about a trade with a guy whose profile picture features sunglasses and a cigar is not exactly what I was hoping for.

Unfortunately, I believe it is only a permenent memory now. Sunglasses has also vanished... quite literally.
Banned here and apparently, changed his telephone numbers etc. All because of screwing 4 members here.
Can't make this shyt up sometimes, I swear.

Thanks for the comment I hope this helps clear things up. So we were in rather constant dialogue until Wednesday the 6th. He returned on the 9th to let me know we were still good on the trade and he would send out the package today (Saturday) or first-thing Monday morning. That was a week and a half ago. Have not heard a thing from him since. BTW The trader is not the notorious sunglasses cigar smoker.

Oh boy, a lot of strewn bodies left in his wake. Sorry to hear this, highly unlikely you will be getting your beer.
