I have, I bet you have too. With Pliny so readily available whether on tap, or fresh bottles here in So Cal it took a few looks at the recent reviews to kind of make me re- shuffle my priorities when I hit up Josh at WF today. There are times when there are so many great new releases that I pass on Pliny and Pig because I know it will be there next week. Today after " refreshing " my palate for all things Pliny I opted for a few fresh bottles of this and it's red headed step son Blind Pig. After some yard duty and a nice hot shower I settled into my favorite leather chair to watch the Angel game and sip a nice cool Pliny. Maybe it's because I haven't had it in a month or so, or was it the last set of reviews here on BA as I sipped, but damn, there it was again, this is the real deal, it IS this good, it tasted even better as I perused the admiration of those thousands of miles away that revere this liquid gift. It made me sit up, breath in the beautiful nose, and reacquaint myself to what is without a doubt one of crafts benchmarks for all the right reasons.

    Cheers.....

if I couldn't get pliny I'd gladly settle for being in Odell's distro and drink Myrcenary. Pliny is damn good and it has the following that it does for a reason but there are good DIPAs made by other breweries.

I like everything about this except the Angels. I just realized I haven't had a Pliny in months, but I'll definitely be picking one up this weekend.

Just got a couple of plinys and pig this afternoon. Also have a bottle of JO that I picked up yesterday. Which one should I open tonight when I get home from work? Haven't had JO in months. Maybe as long as 6 months. Pliny is like every week. Maybe I'll have both. After all it is my weekend off.

Not disagreeing. I prefer my Alpine as everyone knows. And I'm not at all saying that there are better DIPA available. What I said was that because we have such availability we often take it for granted and it deserves it's place in the craft beer panthenon.

    Cheers....

Triple digits worry me, or I would be interested. If you see something I shouldn't live without, then by all means holler, but until then, I think I'm on a hiatus until mid to late September.

I am so on board with this thread. I am constantly on the look out for the latest and greatest ipa and often trade for or purchase other non-Pliny offerings. Being so close to the brewery I can get Pliny bottles so easily that I take it for granted all the time.

Last night had to get my Pliny fix as it was national ipa day. Started with a one day old pliny and followed it up with a sierra hoptimum. The Pliny was so much better it wasnt even close and I was seriously bummed I did not have any other Pliny bottles. The king of Dipas in my book. Went out and got 3 more bottles today.

I have a glass almost every time I see it on tap. It's become so bothersome to get bottles of it down here that I don't even make an effort anymore. Luckily a few of the local bars get it with regularity, so I just have a glass or two (or three) when I'm out.

I absolutely know where your coming from OP. I'm stationed out here at Travis AFB in Northern
Cali and didn't start drinking Pliny until I came here. I really really don't want to get stationed anywhere else but I know it's coming soon as I have been for 3 years but I try to get my fix every chance I get.

likewise, it's too hot to ship beer right now.

I understand completely, someday I'll be moving and I'll miss having the brewery within two and a half hours away

I envy you so damn much... I'm out at Beale:slight_frown: If you're enlisted you can get recoded but if you're an officer you're kinda hosed and its all down to what you want and where AFPC can find a base that has open slots to help you progress. what's your AFSC?

when your code is up ask them to recode you if you're happy there. If they want to keep you around then they will probably not mind doing the work. Beale itself isn't bad but the drive and lack of stuff to do near base makes it bad. Plus the BX is more like a super shopette. Imagine the BX at Travis but less than half the size and selection.
