When will Chicago + Suburbs exceed 100 breweries?

    I looked at all the ones in the city. There looks to be only 17 or so that have a tasting room or a bar to go to. Sounds like a good weekend if you ask me.

    I'm more looking forward to the day that I can have a beer that is brewed and available only on premises than I am to have another choice of local beer jimmying up the shelves at the packy.

    Has anyone else been to the "reboot" of Mickey Finn's in Libertyville? Nearly a month in the new space and not yet brewing???

    I feel it was a serious mistake to try and refashion it into a sports bar atmosphere.

    Dry City in Wheaton can be added to the list soon. They've got the facility up and running just can't sell beer yet as they are waiting for approval from the man

    The List = The Challenge

    A few of us decided that the list was actually a challenge. Take 60 days and try as many brewers as possible, a point for a bottle/can, 1.5 for tap. 12oz minimum. Have to finish it. We've been at it for around 3 weeks and getting into he 30s. We're all trying beers and places we wouldn't otherwise go. Very few duds. A few aren't open yet, a couple don't actually brew at all, but we're having a blast trying beer. Hit 6 in the city on Saturday, hadn't had any of them before, had a blast.

    BTW, Mickey Finn's is definitely brewing and have 5 or 6 taps running
