When will Heady Topper be overtaken as #1?

    Check out the graph I posted. The number of ratings becomes less and less relavent as the ratings pile up. Even with infinite ratings, heady can only top out at ~4.73. Once KBBS breaks that threshold it will be impossible for heady to surpass it as long as KBBS is being brewed (and the ratings stay where they are).

    Why all the hate? I enjoy looking at rankings. I know it is all subjective. Fact is that people enjoy ranking things. Beer is no exception. Like sports? Yeah. Same deal. I enjoy these threads. My #1 beer of all time is Heady Topper. Not ashamed to admit it; nor am I ashamed to be apart of the masses who agree with me. If I had another #1, I would let it be known. My #1 band is Wilco. Gonna give me a hard time for that? I don't give a shit.

    As far as the thread goes, a beer has a very good chance to overtake Heady Topper. Recipes are getting so diverse and original now.

    I was having this same thought the other day. Heady cans say to drink out of the can (due partly that the beer is ugly AF). How can people rate that beer a 5 on appearance. Technically if you drink it out of the can like it says, the appearance is a zero. which lowers the maximum score to 4. Forget the best beer in the world, the beer shouldn't even be in the top 250 if you people were to actually use the rating guide to properly rate the beer.

    Granted, there is another argument if appearance should even matter at all. BA says yes, so I think the rating is kind of BS.

    I just want to try the damn stuff haha! I feel like it's freaking impossible to trade for and I live like 11 hours from Vermont. Don't know if I'll ever get my hands on it.

    I have never had Heady Topper and would love to try it. I feel that part of its high rating is because it is put on a pedestal due to its rarity/difficulty in obtaining.

    Ha i just cracked one last night and I like the cloudiness of the beer. Im sure some people prefer a severely filtered ipa. My post was meant to be funny because people say that it says to drink from the can because its ugly.

    I think its a good looker personally.

    Edit: I still maintain that people who drink it from the can and the rate a 5 across the board are straight up liars.

    Yup some of the rating is probably due to the difficulty in obtaining it but it is still amazing, especially the first sip with the hop aroma. Being from Washington, you should be able to offer something to trade for Heady.
