I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

Then i'm ready to review a beer.

I agree with your sentiments, but I don't know about that analogy. It's pretty easy to have a less-than-cool time if you don't know what you're doing sex-wise.

Open beer, pour beer, take picture, check in on untappd, open review book, review beer, type on BA in morning.

    'bout sums it up

    Cheers!

I am basically still on a one new beer a night pace, although my local store is running out of cheaper brews I haven't tried. I have my own ritual down but things like TV, music and other people don't really distract me. When I review, I always drink that beer first. If I am reviewing in succession, I drink some water and maybe have light snack in between. I always put the beers in order from LowHops/ABV -> HighABV/Hops. I try not to review more than 3 beers in any given night but sometimes I do if they are all milder types, especially low on hops. I guess I just have an easy time concentrating and blocking distractions, when drinking beer. With other things like watching movies, distractions absolutely destroy my enjoyment. After a few hundred reviews I just feel into that groove and it's worked ever since. Also, if you don't feel like reviewing there is no need to write a forced one, those always come out bleh.

I'm not so methodical when it comes to my beer reviews. Maniacal perhaps, but not methodical. Actually, I enjoy reviewing beer while with my wife. I'll ask her for some feedback and it makes for fun conversation.

Insofar as you're writing a review for a site that affects the beer's overall rating, and that can be seen by people looking to see if the beer is good or not, you should take some care in making sure you're review isn't ruined/biased by the condition you're in or your environment, so as to be fair to the brew and brewery.

Other than that, it should be fun and enjoyable, so don't sweat it too much.

This seems excessive. Until most of the general public starts drinking their beers in a sensory deprivation chamber, I see no reason to try to emulate that environment for my beer reviews.

Oh, and I sometimes review from memory, too. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

I usually review in my soundproof all-white tasting room located in my underground nuclear bunker. All that is inside is a white chair, a white desk, a holy water cleansed snifter (no dishsoap of course) air dried by the whispers of angels, and of course the beer to be reviewed. There is a hidden microphone in the ceiling which records my spoken review that will be transcribed at a later time. Probably the most important thing is this is all done in the nude so as not to sway anything with clothing interference. Only then can I say I am giving a beer a fair review.

But what temperature is the room? Since you're nude and all, I'm assuming around 75 degrees F for optimum comfort. But this may be too warm for pale ales, sours, etc. A proper cellar temperature would be best for beer tasting, but then you may risk breaking your glass on your rock-hard nips.

I review beers as a tool to for myself to develop my pallet. To that end, it really doesn't matter to me the conditions. Whatever I experienced as I drank it I record because that's what my experience was. Then next time I drink that beer I compare that experience to the original.

I've definitely improved my pallet this way which has developed made drinking all that much more tasty and enjoyable.

I unplug the phone, draw the shades, put on slippers and sensual music...

Nah, I just like to have a clear palate, clear nose, and good enough lighting to see it. I review far more often at home as opposed to a restaurant because all the food around me can make it difficult to zone in on subtleties.

I used to take it ultra-seriously and try to be all sophisticated about it. Then, with the additional help from various apps, I decided to just write reviews as I'm drinking. Passes the time, enhances the experience, and keeps it simple.

I usually just review beers at home. If I am at a brewery and it's setting isn't too crazy I may jot some notes down and review a beer. At a bar or restaurant I just don't bother; too much going on.

One of the biggest reasons I do not review beers is the fact that I think my mood effects my judgement immensely. If it is a Friday and has been a good week and I am having a beer before going out to my favorite restaurant I tend to find everything that's good about it. If it is a Tuesday evening after a long day and I have a big deadline coming up and am generally in a poor mood, I will not be nearly as excited about the same beer.
