Ahhh...thats what Im talking about! 60s, 70s and 90's rock make up 99% of my iPod. Pearl Jam and Zeppelin are my two favs, but I have at least 2 songs from each of the others you mentioned.

In the NYC Metro area we had no real problem getting quality beer as long as I have been paying attention, let's say very early 80s. The thing is, you had to know where to go to get it- specialty beer bars and stores have catered to that market for quite a while.

I first hit Portland in 1992, and I'd have to say that you guys were totally ahead of the curve. The selection in your average corner bar, pizza joint, sandwich shop, etc., just blew me away, and that's not even taking the brew pub culture into account. I gotta say, that's what I like best about the PNW: it's not about any particular beers, but about how craft beer has saturated your everyday existence.

How did I forget Led Zeppelin. I have the box set. CDs - heard of 'em?
(Actually I have a Zune too, but since my 1,200 CDs are ripped to WMA it looks like I'll never be listening to my music on an iPod/iPhone)

I still have a Led Zep 8 track . Ah, the days of "What is and What Should Never Be" being cut off in mid-song, only to resume on Track 2. Or was it "Ramble On"?

It will be like that everywhere in 10 or 20 years, or sooner. I've just taken all of this for granted since I moved to Seattle from the Midwest.

Ramble On is kick ass...Ten Years Gone is probably my favorite Zep song. But speaking of getting cut off, Heartbreaker and Living Loving Maid just do not work well getting broken up when the iPod is on shuffle

Started following craft beer in the mid-80's - clearly was not just a passing phase for me. Cracks me up when folks in their 20's-30's iimagine they "discovered" microbrew culture - I just giggle and take another sip...if they only knew from whence it came!

Yep, as if they invented microbrew culture.
BTW I got my first internet connection in 1992, but it was so slow and expensive it would take me 20 minutes to load and reply to this post and would have cost me quite a bit. I think I paid about $40 per month for 40 or 50 hours of use. Internet forums were not an option back then, I'd be broke.

Yup, some hidden gems on there...Boogie With Stu, Night Flight, Houses of the Holy, which, for some reason, is not on the Houses of the Holy CD

When I saw Page and Plant years ago, they opened with "The Wanton Song". Wow.

A true statement. But I don't think it could be any other way.

Dazed and Confused, Whole Lotta Love, The Lemon Song, Black Dog, Kashmir, Communication Breakdown, Going to California…so many great ones, I personally can't think of a Zep tune I don't like. I will drink to Zeppelin now and forever.

Does it really matter what one's age is? We all like great craft beer. I am not sure how do do a poll but would be curious of the age break down of BA members. Regardless of age, if one likes beer then they should be drinking great beer instead of BMC. It is never too late to get into craft beer.

In 71 I can remember my brother tying a warm six pack of Hudepohl to a tree and dropping it in the Little Miami River near Wooster Pike, coming back later and drinking it cold! Good times!

I'm 32 so I don't qualify per se for this thread but I thought you all might enjoy this. My dad grew up in St. Louis and one of his fraternity brother's dad was the head brewmaster at AB (before InBev bought them and turned them to shit - e.g. http://www.newser.com/story/142953/flailing-anheuser-busch-tries-new-beers-intimidation.html). Anyways, with every batch that was made, a 6 pack would be sent to the brewmaster's house. Most of them were only dated and batch numbered, no true labeling. (How cool would one of those bottles be today?!) If they were good, his son would get a 5 pack. If not, they would be sent back to the AB lab for analysis. I thought it was neat that the batch depended on one man's taste buds. This probably isn't the case these days. Anyways, my dad saved enough of the posters and bar signs he was given and has since passed some of them to me to decorate my brew room.

This reminds me of tubing the Guadalupe River in Gruene, TX, back in college. That water was so damn cold we could do the same thing. Great ideas survive the test of time.
