    Hi Beerfolks!

I am new to this forum and I am looking for some expert assistance. I am getting married at the end of August 2015 and I would like to do my wedding toasts with Sam Adams Infinium instead of regular boring champagne. I know that you guys are completely impressed with the Infinium on this site, but hey, its better that Brut, right??!

If anyone knows where I can pick up a couple of bottles, please let me know! I have checked so many distributors I think that it must be completely sold out across the US.

    Many thanks...

    -Bunneh

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but Infinium hasn't been brewed since 2011.

Can't comment on how it's held up, but there's been a case sitting at Bella Vista in Philly for at least 3 years.

If you find it, the beer won't be skunked unless it has been left exposed to light. Age may cause other problems but age alone does not skunk a beer.

I had it last month from the last brewing and I would suggest sticking to champagne. I had a certain degree of appreciation for it, but my wife spit it out.

Or go for Bosteels Deus. That one's a delicious champagne beer

    Perhaps some Deus or Malheur?

Sounds like there are still some lying around, it's up to you.

Deus and Malheur are usually around and would probably be easier to find for an alternative option, in fact I would say they are for more common too.

    I love champagne (brut) beer....

I drank my last one at New Year's this year, and it was awful. I liked it when it was new, but the flavor is really not something you want to tangle with for a wedding.

I agree with much of what's above. I opened an old bottle some months ago and age was not kind to it at all. This has nothing to do with skunking... if you search for skunking, you'll get info on what that's about. Go with a more recent bottling of the style from a Belgian brewer that previous posts mention. Stuff ain't cheap.

That you all for your helpful responses!! We may consider a different champagne beer based on your experiences and of course the (un)availability of enough to supply my wedding. I haven't had Infinium in a few years so I'm glad I checked with some pros. Thanks!

Let me check the cellar. If I still have a bottle hanging out all it'll cost you is a shipping label.

It may be a little harder to find, but i think Mikkeler's nelson sauvignon, was a much better take on the style. not sure howit wouldve held up with a little age though
