Where do they make BCS?

    Bourbon County Stout, as most of you know, is made by Goose Island. Since they are owned by AB, I'm curious as to what control they have on this hard to find beer.

    i'm pretty sure it's made here in chicago. as for what control AB has..others may have more insight, but i know as result of the AB owernship the distribution range (not necessarily the quanity) is significantly larger. locally here, just about any place that gets Budweiser will get a case of BCS.

    Who cares? its a great beer whoever makes it or owns it. If some Ethiopian made it in a garage in Australia and it was still a great beer, I'd drink it.

    But its brewed in Chicago, Illinois. At the goose island brewery, like it has been since the start.
    Goose Island continues to produce all their one offs/barrel aged/rare beers at the brewery, with IPA/Honkers/etc brewed in other breweries for ease.

    They don't mess with making it. They just distribute it when GI says it's ready.

    Goose Island Barrel Video this talks about their wine barrel series. If you google goose island barrel warehouse you can go to images and see pictures and go to a map and see the location

    BCBS and the sour Sisters are all made in Chicago buy Goose Island. None of it is touched by outside AB breweries. These two lines are the only things still brewed in Chicago to my knowledge.

    When it's released why does everyone go to Binny's and such? Do they not sell the beer at their own taproom in town??

    The 3.2% ABW version of the IPA is actually made in Chicago as well. The volumes are so small it didn't make sense to produce it at any other brewery.

    It's new-ish, under a year old. When I lived in OKC it was a lifesaver... So few options in 3.2 states. Prices for "full strength" beer in liquor stores were outrageous.

    We have 3.2(in grocery stores and gas stations only) but we also have regular strength and no ABV cap, beer on Sundays, etc.

    I don't think GI sells carry out beer at their tap room. And everyone goes to Binny's because Binny's seems to get the most BCBS.
