I buy as much as possible (and most in bulk if possible) from my LHBS and craft beer brewery, which is 45 minutes away from home and 10 minutes from work. I like to support local and with my American Homebrewers Association discount (and a loyalty program that puts money back on a card for future purchases) the prices can't be beat! If I need a specialty grain they don't carry, I usually order it from Northern Brewer and I buy much of my bulk hops from Yakima Valley Hops. I'm about cost effectiveness and convenience, but truly value the "LHBS guy" for his advice and knowledge, as well as being a cool guy to chill and have a brew with in the down time.

LHBS (about a 25 minute drive) for bulk base grain, specialty grains, some hops, some yeast, and equipment / odds and ends (sanitizers, fittings, mesh bags, auto-siphon, kettles (2), valves, buckets, etc). Certainly this store is where I have spent most of my homebrewing dinero.

Not so LHBS (90 minute drive) for yeast and specialty grains, whenever I make a trip to the big city (SLC).

On line for some harder to get stuff (Speidel fermenters, e.g.) and supplies, ingredients on occasion.

Hops Direct for bulk hops every other year or so (I vacuum seal and keep in freezer).
