I've seen in this forum a few responses "Add him to the bad traders list". Is there a link to a list of known bad traders?

I've had maybe half a dozen trades here and all have been top notch, but I would be interested in avoiding established bad traders. I just can't seem to find the list people are referring to when they say add them to the list

Link that in your profile as well... The more people who do, the better this system will be. Cheers!

OK, I've linked that to my profile. Conversely, is there a good trader list? The people I've traded with thus far (FTowne, jimmy82063, mklever42 x2 and cmsimeur, and box arriving today from seeknup) have all been extremely positive, so I would like to make sure they get added if there is one

There is not a good trader list... Most people will list those individually on their own profiles or make a Google Document. Check my profile for the Google Document examples under the Information tab. Cheers!

The general assumption is that any active trader who is not on the bad trader list is 'good'. Quality varies wildly, of course, but until this site rolls out some kind of trader reviewing system, any attempt at maintaining a list is rather futile.

How the hell is mikesgroove not on the bad trader list?? Is there another list I'm not aware of called the "lying thieves who took advantage of their injured friends and maybe a dozen other people so they could make a profit on eBay" list?

It's in there now. My fault it took me so long. I hope everybody reads it! And finds out how that guy does things!

If there were a "good traders list" you'd be on it.

Thanks brother! I appreciate that! I'm sure more than a few people myself included would put you on there.

Mike was added to it by myself and Marty30... Pending approval now.

Why is this list not plastered in the trading rules and FAQ thread?

For the same reason AleWatcher's blog is not part of the same thread: it's a user-maintained document and not officially part of BeerAdvocate.

....alright then, why doesn't BA supply a spreadsheet for us to plug info into? I can see AleWatcher's blog not being posted, as it is something someone wrote, so it's their "property" but a list of bad traders?

Probably because they don't want to alienate any users. But that's a better question posed to them in a BM.

Because it's TRADE AT YOUR OWN RISK. It isn't the Bros' responsibility to make sure that everyone is trading honestly....that's our/your job.

Did I say they would/should be policing the traders? I simply said as a service to their traders providing a centralized location where people can see potential bad traders would be advantageous.

I didn't say anything about policing....they're simply hosting a forum for us as a privilege, not a right. The Bros' are completely hands-off when it comes to the actual trading aspect. They have no obligation to host any sort of trade-management documents for us.

EDIT: If you really want to be helpful, then post a link to it in your profile. I personally choose not to, but if you're so hellbent on seeing it plastered everywhere, then you could always start with your own "personal space".

I dunno, I don't see why posting a doc for people to leave trade feedback on would suddenly bring them into being hands on. Now if they would going through the list and adding/removing people and validating stories or whatever sure.
