Hold on. Salt Lake City because Mormons and absurd drinking laws. Also, skiing. I'm sure nothing bad can happen when all of those elements plus drinking are mixed.

Any where in NC (within driving distance) But Atlanta also has a huge airport. Great parks and indoor venues to accommodate such an event. Beer scene is on the up and up. People are nice and hospitable. Thank about it!

Manchester nh. Great bars all within walking distance of each other so if the beerfest sucked (long lines and what have you) then everyone could just hit strangebrew and enjoy the rest of the evening.

My issue with Charleston is traffic. Just terribly congested. Myrtle Beach isn't really a good beer town. Asheville would be nice, maybe held in Mills River where they're doing Beer Camp.

But, I think you need to think more centrally. Possibly St Louis, Austin, Kansas City or OKC.

Los Angeles or San Diego boys - Ground zero for hops. You need to have a West Coast presence!

    Milwaukee:
    - a fair amount of direct flights
    - close to Chicago
    - good beer culture/scene
    - big enough city. It not annoyingly big like NYC or Chicago
    - Good Food scene too
    - very centrally located in the US

Minneapolis- for many of the reasons mentioned above for Milwaukee.

Madison, Grand Rapids or cities of this size may be just a bit too small to host something like this.
Chicago, New York, LA area- these cities are just so big and a bit cliche for an event like this.

If I had to vote for a non Midwest city I would say San Francisco, San Diego, Portland or Seattle.

Right outside the city, in one of the first inner-ring suburbs.

Madison. Close enough to Chicago, Iowa, and Minneapolis/St. Paul. Centrally located for all the other breweries you want to invite. Lots of hotel rooms, but without the congestion of a big city.

I'd have to say Dallas or Austin. Help grow an emerging beer culture in Texas. Also DFW Airport is a major hub and it wouldn't be too difficult for people out of state to get here. Further, I live here and I'm of course going to be selfish. Chicago would also make a lot of sense, but come on. Everyone is gonna suggest Chicago.

I think time of year would be important, and also ease of getting around. Our industry usually convenes in Vegas or New Orleans because everything is centralized and we can walk everywhere. Phoenix, Austin, New Orleans, and Dallas would be great in the winter but not so much in the summer. The reverse goes for Chicago and other northern cities.
